If I were a Yankee Doodle I’d vote for him over ANY of the establishment candidates, as your establishment has become (and been for a…fair while now) a naked joke, as has mine in Australia. Lip service to freedom and liberty, while we turn the heat up on the frogs in the saucepan.
I loathed trump as president (even as a human), but I can easily understand how he became president and why he was “popular”. Large sections of your population were/are beyond fed up with “the establishment”. What it cares about, what it’s fattened on, has nothing to do with you, or the welfare of your families, or even actual democracy.
Unfortunately just because someone way outside the mould says “pick me!” Doesn’t make them a good or even passable employee of the people (I refuse to call people who supposedly work for us leaders. They’re employees)
That said I’d take Kennedy over trump, Biden, Harris. Etc ad nauseum.
If your founding fathers were alive, they’d have dragged every president of the past forty years through DC’s streets from their horses. Your nation has become a hypocritical joke, one in which so many of you still view your country as the “good guy”—as if the world were such a childish black and white game.
Well it is for your employees, obviously

My point was that it is a bit ridiculous to consider a member of the most powerful political dynasty in American history to be an antiestablishment candidate. His uncle was president, another uncle was a senator for a half century, his father was assassinated running for president, his sister was the lt. governor of Maryland. He has multiple cousins who are in political office, and one of his cousins didn’t actually die in a plane crash and will reveal himself to believers and become Donald Trumps vice president.

Obama for sure. That’s what you do with escaped slaves.
And I knew that you would drag slave ownership into it, I only hoped you wouldn’t. Laying against the brilliance of your forefathers, the bill of rights and constitution foreseeing and foretelling all which might go wrong and come to pass. And then saying the obvious: but they owned slaves. …and it strikes me as an act of almost self neutering that you would resort to it. But I’m certain that you believe in your constitution? That you believe that all humans are created equal and all have the right to free speech and free expression?
Guess who dreamt it up? People who owned other people as property.
There is where to start in defence of your own contemporary view of America. It it’s, ironically, a Chinese finger trap, when you hold ot in mind in such a manner.
Also…Washington never spoke to Obama, although Lincoln definitely dreamt of him. But between the dream an reality lie the truth.

Who said the constitution was brilliant? It's stupid as hell. It needs a rewrite.
Heck, the only brilliant part of it is that it has a mechanism to be rewritten, but the idiots in charge stopped using it.

It was pretty revolutionary for its time and kinda kicked off a worldwide trend of ditching monarchs or curtailing their power somewhat. That said, it is pretty annoying that we refuse to revise it anymore despite mechanisms existing with which to do so and the fact that it has been done many times in the past.

There's nothing wrong with admitting it was revolutionary in many respects while also understanding that is was self serving as it was designed to preserve the slave economy. Context matters and you can't just ignore the bad parts and hail only the good. That's the problem with worshipping the constitution and our system, too many are willing to join the circle jerk instead of logically critque.
But I agree, it is time for a total rewrite, in fact, I think there should be set periods that force revision. Maybe ever 20 years there is a forced revision. The advent of the internet is a perfect example of how the rules should be changed to adapt to the modern era.

Total rewrite is due. It’s just insane that a modern country should have to live under rules written 250 years ago, before there was anything even resembling modern technology. Before the industrial age. Before indoor plumbing and electricity, when there was no mass communication and when the most advanced firearm could fire one bullet a minute if operated by a skilled user.
Of course that will never happen. There really isn’t even a realistic chance that any meaningful changes could be made any time soon. The constitution as it is written now has become a chain around the neck of the country and will probably lead to its downfall.

You might very well be correct. I’d say you are …but do you really entrust the present cadre of politicians to craft something better? Which ones? And how many from “the other side”?
It can be done. If you can rush the patriot act through congress surely you can sorta rewrite the constitution or else play subterfuge with it.
That’s not a dig. I agree. I just fail to see the same eloquence and basic standards of co operation, much less the quality of clear sight (and vision), that would seek to bring y’all together for something you can mutually respect and abide.

Constitution is an evolutionary document and alot of the document lays out what it takes for a "rewrite". Only way it will happen is if the populace votes for those willing to do such.

Rabbi shmuley is a genocidal fuckhead who thinks Israel should just wipe out the Palestinians.
He’s the David Duke of Zionism. No self-respecting politician would meet with him, let alone a “classic lefty.”
