Formalin from Indian Oyster Growing... now here.. http://www.celkau.in/Agrienterprises/enerprise/19.%20Mushroom%20Production/7.%20Diseases%20and%20Pests%20of%20mushroom.pdf
Quote:
1. Green mould (Trichoderma viride): It is the most common disease in oyster mushroom where green coloured patches are observed on cubes. Control: Dip a cotton swab in formalin solution (4%) and scrapped off the affected area. If the fungus attacks more than half of the cube then the entire cube should be discarded. Care should be taken that the contaminated cube is burnt or buried in a place far from the cropping room to avoid reinfection.

so i did something LIKE that with 40% hydrogen peroxide on agar once, i tried a few dif things in the end. first i just put in the peroxide on the mold and moved it around over the mold.... and ยจsaved"the mycelium i did it a couple more ways and it typically worked... the mycelium usually was stronger than the mold and would fight back, but it was a slow process it definitely will weaken any healthy mycelium it touches.
i dont know if fungicides would work the same way, its a pretty cool idea, but all in all as easy as it is to make a new plate that is clean the usage cases are very limited.
when i was curious about it, i purposefully gave a lc some trich and i caught a lot of flack for it from friends

Using fungicides in mushroom cultivation is nothing new. You can easily find studies on different chemicals. I don't think you'll find any wonderous results from them though, just statistics showing there may have been some improvement to yield.

Imo could not be one of the safest things remember that you're potentially contaminating your mushrooms with fungicides that maybe they can kill trich but you don't really know in what substance your mycelium will break down them and if that substance is safe or not. Plant extracts could have the same problem and also be more wide ranged potentially harming your mycelium
