weak/narrow fruits after good pinning

Hello all,
Basic premise: maybe you can help me: I always face the problem that the cake (CVG, rye grainspawn, P. Cubensis, Golden teacher) looks really good when I put it in the grow box. After 10-14 days always show the first pins, everything smells clean and mushroomy. Temperature is constant at 21-22°C (70-71.5°F), humidity at about 90%. Fanning & Misting every morning.
Problem: However, once the little fruits start growing, they get really narrow and start to look kind of dry/wrinkly/blackish on the hat. Just like the're dying after their early childhood.

Thoughts:
- The first thought, of course, was to increase the humidity. But despite humidifying 2-3 times throughout the day, no change.
- Same with ventilation (2 Computerfans on the growbox covered with micropore): instead of ventilating for 3min on & 3hrs off I tried 3min on & 60min off. Also no effect.

- Another thought was that maybe the CVG doesn't contain enough nutrients and the grainspawn's energy was simply depleted.
Any ideas?
Exception: The only exception that has happened to me is actually when I took a cake out of the box once, thinking nothing was happening anyway. Had it still a few days on the heater under room air stand (no cover / microclimate) and lo and behold: under these conditions, the same cake, which previously only crap has produced again really fruit. So maybe O²/CO²-levels are part of the problem...
/edit: When I put my cakes in a regular growbag and misted/fanned it manually (once or twice a day), the problem wasn't that severe ...

You are probably loving them to death. You have severely overcomplicated the process. You don't need to fan and mist, and that fan thing you have in that box is unnecessary. You want passive air exchange and only mist if your surface is not covered in a fine layer of water beads. I just have some shoeboxes with their lids cracked in my closet. I have never fanned and only mist when the surface appears dry. That's all you need to do. Simplify your process.

You also don't need the gypsum. Doesn't hurt but it doesn't help either.

That cake would be so much better off with a simple ziploc bag over it with a few holes poked in it and just sitting on a shelf somewhere. I agree with the previous posters. I'm not sure it'll solve all your issues, but it is where I would start. Keep it simple.

Update:
I kept on experimenting and the results are more or less similar: tiny fruits, partially covered in gray fluff. It doesn't smell like contamn, but not like a healthy shrrom smell either.

Even I got rid of all this fancy growbox s**t and went back to regular grow bags. Question: could it be, that I'm using just too old / weak mycelium? It's now the 5th to 7th transfer on liquid culture and I had never real fruiting success meanwhile to take transfers from.
Ideas?
