I remember that feeling. First pin was amazing.

Growing shrooms takes a weird kind of patience. It happens quicker than plants, almost so quick that you can sort of watch it happen, but still takes long enough that it's easy to think "this will never work" the first time.

First pin is like busting through the Van Allen Belt and seeing the destination in the distance.

You'll have a bunch of mushrooms soon.

Mushrooms are closer to us than they are to plants. They even breathe in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide, like animals, opposite of plants.

Sorry for posting twice in one day but the timing just worked out this way...  So I have the Hillbilly and Tidal Wave PF TEK in my previous posts, but since I started PE at the same time and it colonizes slower I chose to do a BRF Shoebox for the PE's.

4 fully colonized half-pint PE Jars to 2 quarts of substrate, 1 - 1.5 cm casing layer misted heavily before closing up and leaving to be...  Hope to have my next post on this endeavor in about 10 days?

Kodama. Not sure if they’re going to get much bigger. Some of them are open, some are still pins, but none are very big. Either way, fruits!

Fuck yeah!  I did woodlovers in the strawberries as well, though in my excitement I forgot to label some of them.  Hey, who doesn't like a lil mystery until fall?

No problem posting two different things in same day. Happens here when two things worth posting happen the same day.

Since you had your first pin today, you should have something else worth posting in less than 10 days.

On that shoebox, since it's PE, I'd add a top layer of pseudo-casing, that is, put about a quarter of an inch of verm on top (any grade), then mist it a little. Will hold in moisture, and make better conditions at the top (just under the verm) than on the sides, so you're less likely to get side pins.

I do that for all varieties, but some people just do it for PE.

Note: PE take longer than other varieties, sometimes up to twice as long, so be patient. There's a theory that the longer time is why they're stronger.

Here's some PE growing on the bottom before I started doing a little verm on top. They were still strong as fuck, but grew on the bottom. haha.

I also had a heater in the room, in the winter, apparently was putting some heat on the underside of the shelf they were on.

Now I blow it away from the shrooms and put a piece of cardboard under each shoebox when I run a heater in the winter.

Thanks for the advise!  Just added a verry thin layer of Verm, got it real moist, and closed it back up for the last time for at least 10 days.  Part of the reason I liked the idea of the Shoebox TEK for PE was the 'set it and forget it' idea as there'll be less temptation to be checking it all the time knowing it's going to take longer for sure.

Really hard to make photos through the cloudiness of SSLC so I cranked up the light and a small contrast filter so don't let that throw you off

Next pic of the plate will be in 48h!

Also I may have already inoculated one jar because I couldn't wait

Alright so here we are about 48h later. Ignore the brown marks, they're from a rusty piece during the PC cycle (fixed now). With back-light it looks just like it should, however with normal lighting (angled well so it shines) the goopy look on those spots have me worrying. I've had a pretty good track record with LC so I'm hoping this one will be fine. Maybe the water combined with the myc just makes it shiny.

Will post update in 24 or 48 hours!

Trying out a new (to me) consumption method...

(Thanks for the guide BeefSupreme)

I've had someone else's before, but after a 15 year abstinence.  I could only fit 0.3g in each 00 cap, and was hoping for 0.5g.  I'll either eat a dozen for the next trip, or try microdosing.

Also planning for the next surplus:

These are not magic, but I finally have a gummy recipe I can follow and am satisfied with!  Thanks milkboy!

I put 600mg in each 00 capsule with a lot of room to spare. You’re likely either not powdering or not packing well. I can put just over 500mg in a 000 capsule.
