 Stuff to do/things to see in Portland, Or?

Going to be alone there for two days at the Beginning of July. I'm in town for some Dead shows and to visit a friend but he will have to work the first two days I'm there. I'm up for anything, it's my first time there and would like to get a little look at it.

burnside skatepark....haha, if i was in the area i would check that out...it's under a bridge, i think burnside bridge.
I don't knwo of many thing's to do within portland, but all around oregon/washington isn't there like tons of great wilderness?

Yeah we are hitting up some parks on the 4th. I'll be either stuck in his apartment or out on the city myself for two days. I'll have loads of dank so I'll probably go hang out in some in the inner city parks. It sounds like there is tons of great areas to walk thru. I just need my friends address and I can probably find everything I've checked out so far with map quest, he has a computer to so I'm sure I'll have no trouble getting around.

That looks pretty interesting, doesn't seem to be that far off either.
Have to check with my friend on that one, I'm doubting the bus will take me that way.

The Japanese Gardens are fantastic! There is also a Chinese garden in their chinatown district that is very nice also (smaller than the Japanese gardens, though). I highly recommend one or both of them if you have the chance.
If you're into airplanes, there is a very nice aviation museum in McMinnville, OR... which is about 30 minutes away from Portland. Their claim to fame is that they hold the "Spruce Goose" the largest wooden aircraft ever build. (and it's frickin huge!!!) They also have many other vintage airplanes on display.
I wish I could join you! I fell in love with that city during the week I spent there.

I think I might be falling in love with it already, it seems so freaking cool, I didn't know the USofA could pull off a place like that. I'm sure I'll check out one of them, I just need to find the address for my friends apartment so I can figure out the bus routes.

Done and done. I talked with my friend recently he lives right downtown. The bus station is right beside his house, I've looked over the routes and maps of the place. I should be able to get around pretty easily.

Go to Powell's bookstore. If you like books, it is soooo cool. They have a shitload of used and new. Have fun Adom!

Good call Phishgrrl... that bookstore is amazing. I've never seen a place that size.
Washington park was a pretty cool place too. We walked around it for a little bit and sparked a doob. Some old people were walking along a trail and saw us and just kinda laughed and shook their heads. :-)

I love Portland. Powell's books is awesome! I can spend a whole day there and still not see everything.
Washington park is probably my favorite part of Portland. I LOVE the Japanese garden there. The zoo is there too. And lots of awesome hiking trails. One of my favorite places to spend my day off.
Adom already came and left though. I met him at the Dead show at Columbia Meadows. We had a good time smokin' bowls, eating kettle corn and dancing.
