Running low. 8

My doggo of 13 years died earlier in the week. I buried him in the yard and that's kinda that. There's nothing else to say or do really. Running low since then though. No persistent motivation, no real urge to do much. Bit of a bummer.
I'm going to get some guinea pigs in for the moment. I've wanted some for years, and their little Woot Woot sounds are cool as well as being cute af.
Still working on my greenhouse too. Have laid the irrigation and attached it to the mains, hopefully have a pic for the pic you've taken thread soon.
Dunno guys, it all just seems a bit empty right now hey. Blah blah, something and the other.

RIP your dog
My office cat just died and walking in feels like so empty, every single shift for five years she ran out to greet me.

I work 50+ hours each week.. it's more often than nought we work 56 hours and not the scheduled 50..
Months ago my cat disappeared for a week after going outside. I thought the worst, she was probably gone.. she straggled home and cried outside my window. Something bad happened and she came home with a broken jaw. I paid the vet 540$ approximately to put her to sleep and wire up her jaw. Paid a little bit more even to have her put back to sleep and have it taken out. That cat loved me so much more after that. Unfortunately.. she just was not able to consume enough calories over the next 5-6 months, and because I was working this ridiculous schedule.. I did not even notice how gravely ill she was becoming until her death weekend came. She actually had the muscles fail her in her lower body and she fell down, and I knew it was now a matter of 24 hours before she would die. She died and I made sure she was never alone in those last hours. I am racked with insane guilt.. Had I known she was going to die from not being able to eat enough Friskies I would have let her eat Broccoli Cheddar Soup from Sam's Club to her heart's content and let her get fat even as it seemed to be her favorite thing ever that she could eat with her missing canines and broken jaw. But I work too much.. I just didn't notice she was dying because ironically myself i am trying not to become gravely ill from too much work. I am having a hard time too.. 57 months of working nothing but overtime and I am losing my will to live.. every day feels like it could be my last because the desire to no call no show or walk out on the job has never been higher. You aren't alone in the pain of being a pet owner. I think I may even put in my two weeks notice just to avoid going out in a worse way. I miss my Rikku Bikku so much. Sorry about your doggo.. at least you got that many years. When my childhood dog of 16 years died I wasn't even able to be in town when my parents had him put down.. at least you got to be there for the conclusion. Sorry to dogpile the bummer man, this shit really does suck.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's hard adjusting to doing things without your sidekick. My lil' buddy's been gone two years, I still sometimes expect her to be at my heel when I'm working in the kitchen or whathaveyou.

I lost my cat, my pig, and a dog that someone gave me, they all disappeared into the jungle and never returned... Then I lost like 20 baby chickens and a rooster and two chickens. One rooster gave its life to protect its family and was killed by a stray pack of dogs. The mother and the only surviving chick stayed for a while but then they too disappeared. Shit is rough... I've learned that sometimes freedom leads to death and I gave my animals too much freedom I guess. Now I'm kind of afraid to get another animal.

Sorry for your loss.
I have had a couple of dogs die and it was strange not having them around, sort of like a bad dream because you get so used to them being there and then they're not.
I hope you feel better!

Sorry man.
I want a dog but my girlfriend doesn't like pets. To be fair it's a one bedroom apartment and there's no room honestly.
Luckily my parents have a dog with a non stop motor that wants to play 24/7 and he will literally play anything. He'd be a bit much if I had to play all day with him everyday tho

I had my beautiful white teenage kitten Maggie run over by an idiot outside my house at a 4 way stop. I had only left to get ingredients for spaghetti on a Sunday.. she door dashed on me and I said, dammit whatever.. I came back to the aftermath and she died in my arms with her eyeball popped out of her skull groaning in pain.. all because she was following big brother and not looking for danger.
Big brother and my other two cats still never stop whining about wanting to go outside even after he witnessed little sissy dying a horrible seizing death in the middle of the road. It's better just to never let them get a taste of that freedom that will kill them.
Works if you're Jackson Galaxy and you can build them a fancy catio.. I can't do that. So I have had to pick two cats up out of the middle of the road and have had three that I will never figure out the mystery of.
My advice to any new pet owners would be, keep it to one or two.. and then never let them outside under any circumstances. They never stop hurting your feelings about wanting to go outside instead of spending time with you, and often.. they die out there.

Probably so, I've tripped on LSD a few times and believed I was talking to aliens.. any time you want to ask an important question like how were the pyramids built.. anything like that, they just talk shit. Who knows if it's real.. but yeah, there doesn't seem to be any great respect afforded to us. That being said, I'll be the first willing to die on a mission to Mars if shit continues for me on Earth the way it has.

Ah the mice. The king of mice died of old age sadly. He was fkn legendary. Now there's more mice, oh so many mice. Currently just have 5 in 3 cages but there was a while there we had 8 in 4. Little blighters are so cute. Kinda constant rotation of new ones coming in and old ones being buried under the mango tree.

So I just got woken up at 3am by my daughter, there was a snake on the mouse cages in the living room. A 1.5m amethystine python trying to snack on my pets. Crafted some snake handling tools with some tie wire, pillow case and pliers, true MacGuyver style, then caught put the bastard outside. Usually they don't get in like that.

My father has a pair of black rat snakes that he allows to live naturally in him some. Keeps the rodents under control. He gets nice 8 foot skins on occasion. The only problem is that sometimes they will shit around the house. Keep in mind these are wild, and in no way were they brought in intentionally. Anyways, it's probably best he doesn't have pet mice.
Also, sorry to hear about your pup. My family lost a dog and a cat in the last few months. Never fun.

Just saw this. RIP to all pets in here. I love pets but the mate is allergic. I kind of like it though as my heart is torn when they pass or run away. I figure if I do get another pet it will be a boston terrier and I'll be around 80ish. Maybe a cat too.
