ID Help plz

Description: Dull orangish capwith sunken center and nipple. Pale orange gills with no veil remnants left on yellowish stalk.

Habitat: Midwest; scattered and clustered on a lawn under oak trees.

Cap: 1/4"-1.5" wide; becoming flat with sunken center with knob; feels firm, smooth and waxy; deep orange to brick orange.

Gills: attached and descending stalk; close, crowded; pale orange no apparent ring zone.

Stalk: 1/2"-3" long; 1/8"-1/4" thick; smooth and waxy; snaps easily.

Spore print white.

Had it grown on wood, I had said Omphalotus olearius .

Actually I would still say that's what it is sine Omphalotus grow on subterrainian roods of deciduous trees.

All I know is that is not a cubensis or copelandia, hehe. Its cool looking though.

I'll pick some more fresh mushrooms and see if they glow. I think Omphalotus is pretty close, but olearius is probably not it. I found this pic in my archives from last year, I would be hard pressed to call these the same. It forms gregariously, but only in small clusters and singularly. Also the size is much smaller, it seems they mature at around 1.5" in cap diameter, the picture below all the caps are 2".

These are growing in my parents yard, we are kinda worried they are parasitic. They are growing under 100+ year old oak trees.
