first and last picture are from the beds in the garden. started out on course coco coir mulch, when that was almost depleted, I dumped the deciduous chips on top. the fall after, I had little fruits. now I've more mushrooms than I can process so I leave them in the bed.
the bins are straw/sawdust spawn layered into mulch straight from the bag. SRA just loves it. I made these just a couple of months ago and they're already fruiting.
So there not the kind of mushroom that would grow out of holes in buckets like oyster?
Thanks for the pictures.

This is my first attempt at the buckets so I don't know. I would not say it's impossible but it's unlikely.

Maybe we'd get one HUGE one in each hole!

Hey all,
I’m fairly new, but am looking to get some wine caps/SRA going in my garden beds & am having difficulty finding a tek. (Maybe I’m overthinking it)
I ordered a liquid culture that I was planning to spawn in jars. I have popcorn jars ready to go, and could do rye or brf cakes. Or I can get something else.
As for straw, most of it is heavy with glysophate (sp) — is anyone concerned about fungi absorbing that? How do I know it’s clean? I can get hay from our property, but that’s loaded with seeds that I’d prefer not to overtake my food beds. My beds are all back to eden style with wood chips.
Thanks for any advice!

I'm not certain on this but I think I've read that if you pasteurize the straw the seed is killed off by the heat and wont grow the way you're thinking. I could be wrong though.
