Recommendation for a complete newbie

I'm pretty new to mushrooms. I've really only ever eaten them once and honestly didnt have the best time. Somehow i got really interested in growing them though, and have a tub i just put into fruiting. I have friends who for sure like them so they wont go to waste but i would like to enjoy the fruits of my labor. I'm looking for tips and recommendations on dosage and preparations to help me have a better trip.

I'll throw it out there that this is normal. Mushrooms are not the most pleasant always. I learn more from unpleasant trips than the sparkly clean ones.
I grow mushrooms but trip very rarely since it is so intense. The benefits last a long long time if you can unpack what happened during your trip.
The fireside project and tripsafe are both good resources for prepping you or even being with you if it goes bad.
Do it if you want to, don't pressure yourself though. I grow mushrooms for my friends and feel no need to eat them they have taught me well and I have plenty of other work to do
Cheers

If you do want to try them again start low and slow and increase successive doses by small amounts, for example I would recommend starting at 1.5-2g and working your way up by .5g each trip. For the most homogenization of potency I also highly recommend grinding your dried shrooms in a food processor or something and mixing it all up so that you aren't getting blown away by a random super potent shroom But also keep in mind that it's ok to not like the experience, as stated above sometimes you can learn more or just choose to stop if you really don't like it!
