Salvia Recognita cultivation and experiences

Last year I planted some salvia recognita seeds and now have 3 young plants growing in my garden. From what I understand it has been found to contain low but significant amounts of salvinorin A (200ug per gram of dried plant material vs 3mg for Salvia Divinorum). The low amounts don’t really bother me as I’d like to chew the leaves for a mild experience rather than an inter-dimensional mind fuck like smoking Salvia D extract back in the day was, so I was wondering if anyone else was cultivating it at the moment or had any experience with this particular plant?

I don’t have any pictures at but will grab some when I’m next outside. The growing conditions are quite different between the two, Salvia R is native to mountainous areas Turkey and seems to be doing just fine outside here in the UK, whereas I imagine Salvia D would have kicked the bucket if I’d planted it in my garden as soon as autumn came round.
I could get the same effects I’m looking for from Saliva D, but it sounds a lot more fragile and harder to grow, and is far more expensive for single plants/cuttings compared to the pack of Salvia R seeds I bought last summer.
How have you found growing Salvia D? Would very much like to try at some point in the future.

That’s interesting, I kept two in small pots that didn’t really dry out over the winter and they seemed OK. I did add quite a bit of sand to the growing medium so that might have helped drainage wise.

Two of the ones I’ve planted out. First one spent the winter in a pot and seems to have put on a decent amount of growth since the start of March, while the second was planted in a raised bed last autumn.
