Yes. Violet used to use WBR as a grain spawn but it can be a pain in the ass to prep right.
The only difference is one is in flour form, and if you're doing PF Tek you need BRF. Nutritionally the same.
You can turn WBR into BRF with a coffee grinder.

I wish I had read that yesterday. I went with one, thought nowadays a single hole was considered better for some reason π
I've never seen brown rice flour being sold in the places I've lived in. Is it common in the US? What is it used for? (Like outside the mushroom world). The times I've done PF tek in the past I just put brown rice in a good blender (it makes a horribly loud noise though).

Dumb quick question. My shoeboxes are being assholes and fruiting like 3-5 days apart and Iβm getting tired of running the dehydrator multiple times for 100-150G wet.
Can I put them in a plastic container with no lid wrapped in bounty paper in the fridge no issue?

Personal preference. It'll work just the same.
I live in the US and can only find it online. I make my own with a $20 coffee grinder.

Sure. There's a dude on here who has shoeboxes with no paper that he leaves them in in his fridge. The paper is just a bonus.
I'd have no qualms doing that. Though if I had clingwrap I'd toss some on top because why not?

Yeah, long as they can breathe and don't freeze they shouldn't turn to mush.

Guys another dumb question. Is it possible to cut the cap off a shroom and then put it to PFTEK or grains to let it germinate there? Iβm guessing contamination and the rotting shroom would cause issues?

You talking 'bout dropping a cap directly on grain???
Pluck a gill and stick it on agar, you monster.

There are stories of people dropping fresh shroom flesh in grain jars and then it colonizing.
Probably bacterial as all fuck but
No reason not to stick to agar first.

Question: is this pp5 plastic? Answer: No, it is definitely NOT PP5. By Jose N. Morales on January 26, 2020
Question: Can these survive the Instant Pot? Answer: These will not survive in a instant pot or a pressure cooker. The plastic is sort of flimsy so I donβt recommend it. Iβve gotten away with cleaning these with some bleach diluted in some water. By Harley Torrevillas on November 7, 2020 No, I'd recommend getting the Ziplock 4oz mini containers for that. Question: Can the plastic withstand stronger chemicals like hdpe can? Answer: probably for a one time use, but no more. By todd johnston on January 27, 2021
Question:Are these petri dishes autoclavable? Answer: Absolutely not. I tested one at 300F and it totally melted. By Kttn on November 12, 2021 No By Harley Torrevillas on November 7, 2020

Hey guys,
I inoculated these bags on 3/10 and I think they are nearing close to 100% (especially the first bag). I do have a few questions on the bags tho. On both bags I notice some metabolites are starting to form. I hear this is normal and there are some drops, not a whole puddle so I guess that is ok right? Also I notice on bag 1 that there are a few grains in the crease of the bag are uncolonized. I assume that if they are still like that when I spawn I can just throw them out?
Also for bag 2 I notice there are some areas that are not too colononized. I will admit I did not mix that bag the best and the uncolonized areas were a lot larger 4 days ago. Do you guys think it is looking good as it is not stopping and closing the spaces?
Lastly, how much longer do you think I have left till I can spaw? I think bag 1 is pretty close and bag 2 needs a bit more time. (Just for an fyi I think the condensation is from a 4F temp swing that can happen)
Any info would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Why are these guys so bruised up in this little patch? I assume it's a sign they are in need of something. More FAE? More water?
The bigger guy I circled on the other cake hasn't changed size in two days. Is it possible its done and I should harvest it? This is APE and they're still quite small. Standard sharpie in there for scale. Input would be much appreciated! My first grow, with APE none the less, but they seem to be turning out quite well.
