This thread should serve as the first and last place to reference anything morning glory.
What sizes are best; is bigger better? Does color of seeds matter in regard to alkaloid content? Extraction methods, colors of seeds, and info on LSA in other parts of the same plant would be nice to know. For example, do the clove looking parts contain any alkaloids? Is it more or less than seeds? Just a few things to address that needs to kick this thread off!

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

I'm planning on planting out some heavenly blues in the next couple weeks when the soil warms up a tad, this thread is perfect timing! I haven't grown any before but I'm looking forward to learning more and adding to my little entheogen garden.

Ipomoea tricolor cultivar "ghost glory"
I started this breeding project 25 years ago when I was 12. We started with pearly gates, heavenly blues, and Scarlett O'Hara, which turned into a dull purple flower, then added some other strains to increase the brightness of it, eventually crossbreeding it back with itself once the color stabilized. Now it's completely stable (has been for about 7-10 years, and I just keep planting the seeds. It's extremely vigorous, and relatively resistant to pests and disease, grown in the Midwest.
I have found best success by dropping seeds in their flowerbeds in March to April, and they begin to pop up late April to early May, earlier if I start seedlings inside in peat pods. For soil all I've done is mixed a little sand into the flower bed. Other than that it is in some high clay medium nutrient soil (each year I mix in dead plant material in the top soil to add nutrients over winter)
They grow extremely fast, love water. Not very drought resistant, but she'll tell you when she's thirsty, if you don't get rain for a few days but you get full sun, the leaves will wilt in the midday sun and get turgid again in the cool of the evening and morning.
She'll start flowering end of September, all through October, and will start dying off early November.
It's been an absolute pleasure growing these plants!
The flower in the picture was grown indoors in my gecko tank where the humidity is high and the space is limited so the growth is prolific

Very cool contribution Miguel. Now it’s time to start breeding for highest alkaloid content!

Due to somebody in a morning glory group that I was in telling me that my flower couldn't possibly be ipomea tricolor (he specified that it had to be nothing more than ipomea nil, which is inactive) I am going to be actually taking some of my seed to a friend of mine who works in genetics and will be able to run a full DNA sequencing on my particular breed, which would then tell this schmucklehead what I already know.
My particular strain is definitely active, on the grand scheme of things I don't know where it would rank in activity. I do however know that the first several strains to be crossbred into it are all extremely popular active cultivars. I know it's definitely active, I've used it before and had a really good decent trip off of only 100 seeds.

How's everyone doing with this? Considering planting some but never really had a green thumb and don't know if the results are worth it.

Morning glory are really pretty to look at, and very easy to care for. They love water, so just make sure to keep them watered frequently

Found this beauty growing wild in a old ploughed field (with a couple ripe seeds I grabbed)
