Was it wrong? The DJ who ran a marathon on LSD.

I'd like to get your thoughts on this. He said he had only ran 11 miles straight before, so he had absolutely no training for a marathon. His time is pretty impressive for someone who has never done one. I think 3 hrs, 55 minutes.
He took LSD because it's essentially mind over matter.
Doctors think it was a bad idea because it would make the heart overwork itself, or cause other issues.
I see no reason that this would be a problem. The guy did the DJ for a party after the marathon, so we can assume he took less than 200ug. Probably 50-100ug at most.
I don't think he is crazy to do this, I would do the same thing. In fact, I have done so. Not for a marathon, but I once used LSD to read one of my textbooks front to back so I wouldn't keep failing the class.
I honestly want to see more exposure like this for LSD in the future. It really is a nice self actualizer. It can help people achieve the best version of themselves
Heck, Elon Musk, who is far out there, endorses psychedelics, and I think it's a good idea
Don't forget to spread the word about maps.org and other resources

Dock Ellis pitched a no-hitter on LSD in 1970, so if Diplo ran a marathon while on acid, there is nothing wrong with that. Free country, he didn't harm anyone or infringe on anybody's rights.

Whether it is healthy or "wrong" are two separate questions.
Probably not very healthy for the reasons stated by doctors.
Probably not that terrible for your health though. I'm sure using cocaine just once would be worse on the cardiovascular system and many people have done cocaine just a handful of times without serious health effects.
Do I recommend running a marathon or doing intensive sports for long periods on psychedelics? No. Do I recommend not doing it? no.
Although the stimulating properties could theoretically enhance abilities short term, over the course of a marathon the increased energy demands from the acid alone would make you burn out much quicker; or make you push yourself to exhaustion. Heat exhaustion could also be a risk as your body needs more fluid & electrolytes. Self-assessing for exhaustion would prove challenging due to less reliable internal sensory perception which is clouded by sensory & otherwise hallucinations.
The main risk is not the acid alone but how the vasoconstricting and sympathetic effects of the LSD could catalyze environmental hazards such as the sun, dehydration, exhaustion, and a lack of awareness when your body might otherwise tell you if something is wrong.
In short, the risk of death is probably insignificant if you have a healthy heart. If you want a really intense experience that is mild-moderately unhealthy/risky, then go for it. It is not wrong, but inform yourself on the risks.
On your ideals:
I generally agree with your sentiments, but having worked in psychedelia for 4+ years, I now identify as a retired psychedelic cheerleader. Psychedelic cheer-leading can be just as dangerous as anti-drug positions. What goes much further is a level-headed approach that can appropriately assess the risks and benefits of psychedelic integration into mainstream cultures & systems. https://www.psymposia.com/podcasts/plusthree/
We must be critical of how messaging about our messaging re: psychedelics as the wrong types of messaging will promote systems of inequity (in terms of access, representation, issues of legality, religious freedom, and cultural issues related to ethnicity).
I'm not sure Elon Musk has these interests in mind...

There are many exceptions to this rule. Check out the post I wrote: Major Issues in the Psychedelic Movement: Why 'Psychedelic People' and the Psychedelic Movement Sucks
