Sorry for the double post:
girlishjoy: This was literally just me looking at my first Panaelous pin ever! It's BVI. I am fucking stoked! The blue is just bruising not trich. I used Baba Yaga's pans in monotub thread as a guide, no wonder Baba received a TC badge!

Thai - My 2nd fruiting attempt. Bunch of strains and LC's, but this is the 1st shoebox making it this far.

Very nice. I’m a fan of the Thai varieties.

May I ask what you like about them compared to other cubes? I just finished my KSSS tub this week, and I have Thai Pink Buffalo going as well. I'm contemplating taking some of the KSSS tonight and would be interested in your opinions/experiences with Thai cubes.
Thanks!
Seeker604
I like that they fruit reliably, they seem to me to be quite potent with low nausea response, they seem to out compete the “contams” regularly …. Which is HUGE in my septic remodel bomb environment AND they seem quite symmetric in stature to me. These things cause me to like them more than say F+ or even my own Amazon X Thai Koh Samui variety. Thai mushroom varieties are just real pretty to me.

Thank you! Good stuff - especially about the low nausea response. That's one of the main reasons I'm branching out into exotics this year; cubes are getting harder on my body as I age and I'm looking forward to trying panaeolus and Ps. Mexicana since they're reputed to be much more enjoyable than cubes (no body load, no nausea, no anxiety on come up, etc.).
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!!

Even by my response and endearment to Thai varieties one cannot over describe the quality of the pan experience. Pans are almost as if …. When one drives to Taos, NM in their 1970-ish VW van in a 30+ inch snow storm …. and sees Al’s run for the first time and realizes ….. this is where god touched the earth first. Anyway …. That’s how I see it.

Yeah, I'm just getting ready to start germinating my Pans. I currently have Nec Divino, BVI, Blue Meanies (South African), and Rancho Agosto. I'm going to grow them one at at time to see which one reacts best to my environment and skill set. I'm excited but don't want to mess it up, either.
Thanks again for sharing. I like the way you describe things.

Got some thick old buddies here. Spores were labeled Jack Frost, yet they look nothing like the images I saw of mature specimens. Any thoughts?

Theyre far from mature, most JF photos show them all the way open since they dont drop spores people run them all the way to full maturity or till they start to fuzz up /abort get reclaimed…
