if everyone in the nation decided not to pay income tax anymore, a great change would be made for everyone. everyone at once... what could be done to stop it? how would the goverment react? yet the sad fact is that people are too afraid to even try...

I'm guessing, and i'm sure i'm not too far off, but I doubt you pay as much taxes as the average person. Call it a gut feeling.

Under bush, almost 50% of our tax money goes to the military. Until that madness changes, i would have no qualms whatsoever about not paying mine.
Not as bad an idea as it sounds except that you would need a large amount of people to do it, and youd have to do it as a publicity thing, to raise awareness of how are money is being squanderd by lunatic gun nuts.

This is not directed at anyone in particular but since there are so many "mavericks" on this site that want to start a revolution, stating we should not pay taxes, yadda, yadda, yadda. I don't see any of you heading this up.
I don't enjoy paying taxes, I don't support most things that raise taxes beyond what we're paying now. But be real, do any of you think that this country could survive with no tax money? I believe the taxes should be considerable lower and not based on the incom you make. I've always liked the idea of a flat tax (or similar programs which i'm not an expert at). But i'm not ignorant enough to thimk that we'd have the same way of life with no tax base.
Don't confuse the above with my support of the current tax law, it should be ALOT lower.

first you plant seeds, then you water them, then you wait... that is how things work. all i do is plant seeds or water the ones already out there. when enough people start planting the same seeds, eventually things will begin to sprout...
and as for those people caught up in the midst of a collapsing infra-structure, get out, get some understanding, move on. can't be dependent on the system forever ya know.

hahaha... people need to stop being intimidated by the government. i mean seriously, why the hell is everyone so afraid? plant enough seeds in enough places, hide them on the mountains, in the woods, anywhere, everywhere, and start putting your own pair of boots on and start stomping the government.

You realize of course these "seeds" you talk of are seeds of a new govt. Sounds like you got plenty of ideas about destroying the current system, but no ideas of making a new one....

Excellent rhetoric...nice and vague. What would YOU have our new country look like? Form of government/Economic System/etc.
So you know, I believe we need to get back to limited and constitutional government with the role of the state confined to securing the natural rights of its citizens and perhaps one or two ancillary features(maintaining federal roads for instance). The abolition of the 16th amendment which allows an income tax would be a very doable goal as government is stripped of more and more functions not perscribed to it in the constitution. The least one can do to work towards this right now is to vote Libertarian.

Since you fashion yourself as a gardener, i'd advise against accusing people of not being brave enough to make a stand. Many people make their stand at the polls at the local and state level where the REAL work is done.

so your big plan is to just not pay taxes. I'd think that one out a little more. You'll have plenty of time to do it from your jail cell.

What part of the infra-structure is collapsing? From your posts i'm suspecting you're pro Anarchy.

That should be on pay-per-view. I'd watch that 1/2 hour show.

You really think'd last that long? I say he'd be begging to pay income tax by four seconds in.
