Cloning this big sumbitch later. Are plated generally clean enough to put to agar after cloning?

Excess Taters said: The same dumb kit I threw my money away on initially. Tip, ditch the tub in tub or keep it at 75. The jars heat up a few degrees above whatever it's set to, and the bottoms of jars get more heat. Also, bacteria likes higher temps. You will get quicker colonization, but you increase your risk of getting nothing.
Take the foil off, they need air exchange, the dry verm barrier protects from contams. But to be clear, if you pick the jar up after it's shrunk from colonization, and tilt it, that dry verm barrier can fall down the side and infect the cake. So try to avoid that.
Gl with your grow, don't build a sgfc, and birth those cakes to a water tub if ya wanna be smart about it.
Once they've cultivated I'm going to be using 3x shoebox-size TEC fcontan4rs for the 3 different strains.

And this, people, is what happens if you're in a hurry to get to work and skip the liner. The mycelium decides the edge has the best growing conditions and puts up shrooms there. At least it did for me this one time ever that I did that. Regardless of that it's got pretty pink spores, because x7x.

This is blue meanie(cube) on my agar plate, and it grows out to resemble an enigma type growth.

Which have me this type of growth in a shoebox. This is the second flush about a week before I harvested it. I forgot to get pics when harvesting.

I'm thinking about calling it blue cheese, if I can stabilize it, since it looks like it when harvested and dried. It also has a grated parmesan feel to it when chewed fresh. It is also a bit stronger than other blue meanie I've had.

May I ask what you like about them compared to other cubes? I just finished my KSSS tub this week, and I have Thai Pink Buffalo going as well. I'm contemplating taking some of the KSSS tonight and would be interested in your opinions/experiences with Thai cubes.
Thanks!

I like that they fruit reliably, they seem to me to be quite potent with low nausea response, they seem to out compete the “contams” regularly …. Which is HUGE in my septic remodel bomb environment AND they seem quite symmetric in stature to me. These things cause me to like them more than say F+ or even my own Amazon X Thai Koh Samui variety. Thai mushroom varieties are just real pretty to me.

Please please, anyone doing any kind of semperviva grow (or any exotic/less cultivated spp.), mention your fruiting conditions. How long in bottles til they started to pin? I'm still in mycelium on agar and LC step with semperviva, yet still worried about the upcoming fruiting.

I did a 1:2 shoebox with 50/50 CV 1qt millet. It is bacterial but thriving. Waited about a month for knots and cased with 100% coir since I didn't have peat. About a week later I had pins. About 2 weeks after that I had 1 decent fruit that I harvested. I'm waiting on the rest to mature. I have another shoebox colonized and waiting for knots. This one is much cleaner and looking better. I'm about 2 weeks in from spawn. This is 1:2 1qt oats to straight coir. Both were under field capacity and I don't mist until I case and only mist the casing. Once the mushrooms start touching the shoebox lid I move them to a water tub to finish up.

This is a few days ago
Honestly there is nothing to worry about with these. They just take time. Look at this thread if you haven't yet https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27070123#27070123
