Does blue honey go bad?

Does blue honey ever go bad or expire?
I seldom take psychedelics. So I usually end up with a surplus of shroomage after a grow. Usually after Ive consumed what I desire fresh and dried, that surplus remainder I grind up to a powder, then I mix it into a jar of warm waterbathed honey, I like to let it stay hot for a while, I assume this kills bacteria and maybe pasteurizes it. Idk..
I actually add sequential harvest surplus powder to this same jar, using the same method. Right now my jar has at least 4 loads of shroom powder in it. The color is almost a solid dark brown. It smells fine, kind of like blueberries maybe.
I'm not gonna get sick from it later right?
My idea is that this is theoretically the most viable option for long term preservation of psilocybin... if prepared correctly..

I think cracker dry in an airtight container with desiccant packs is the best way to store for longevity.
I wonder how strong that honey is? lol Sounds like you put quite a bit of powder in there!
I bet it’s fine.

I dry mine and put them in an airtight jar with desiccant and I remove the air with Argon. You can buy it an aerosol can for about $10.
It’s handy for other things like preserving an open bottle of wine or pretty much anything that is spoiled by oxidizing.

By its very nature honey never goes bad, there have been finds of honey jars in Egyptian tombs which are still edible. The sugar in honey (usually around 80%, although this can vary slightly depending on various natural factors) acts as a preservative. By heating the honey you are killing certain enzymes and both making it less delicious and possibly less nutritious, honey should not be heated above 40C (the max temperature of a healthy hive) to keep its best properties.
As long as you are not adding a liquid to honey I can’t see that it would or could go off. If you add liquid there is a possibility that the natural yeasts will ferment it into mead, but that will certainly not kill you, only possibly make you drunk. If there are any contaminants in the mushroom powder, they wouldn’t be able to grow in honey due to said sugar content.

Mushrooms are mostly water, obviously the powder is dehydrated, however, there's no way it's anhydrous. So how does that factor in?
The faint blueberry smell, and this information about liquid content makes me think theres probably something in there reacting on a biological level, maybe

The longest I’ve kept blue honey in a jar so far has been 1mo, and it was awesome.

All honey can go bad if the moisture content is too high.
Once it is brought down to levels that don't support the growth of bacteria then honey can last indefinitely. It needs to be below around 18% to be safe.
Honey with greater that 20% moisture supports the growth of fungi and bacteria and does not keep well.

Im interested in making an experiment, using fresh shrooms make a water extraction (maybe two, one using Vit C and the other without it) reduce the liquid to a minimun and mix with honey or other kind of very concentrated fruit jam, to see if it retains potency trough the time. Some time ago i make Golly’s Honey Tek 2.0 that i found in a book called: Magic for the masses psychedelic mushroom cultivation made easier by shroomery.org, i did it with dried mushrooms and using Vit C in the water extraction, instead of honey i used grape jam (a very concentrated kind). I was amazed of how smooth the came up was with this method, the same shrooms eaten dried and whole affected my in a much more bumpy way. But... it seems that this magick jam is losing potency faster than i was expecting. If anyone has experience in this, opinions or anything they are welcome. AbrazO

Yeah there's a lot of oxygen in water, and alkaloids oxidise. It's the reason blue honey doesn't have a long shelf life.
