Stoke and mental illness 1

I'm not sure if anybody cares but I'd like to share.
I first posted here asking about my physical problems, and if anybody knew if shrooms could exacerbate them. Then I asked here if anybody could give me insight into what to expect with me having mental issues.
Many of you gave me good advice. Most of all was to speak to my doctors.
My GP told me that he admittedly knew very little about the subject.
However my neurologist did some reserch. He now apprehensively supports the idea of microdosing. Wi the caveat of using extreme caution, and keeping a journal of my dosage, and effects.
My psychiatrist however has a few patients that not only microdose, but trip on occasion. He told me that it seems to help them. He did caution me to be very careful, and to have support/ground control with me. That part is going to be almost impossible.
If anybody has any ideas about creating a good environment for a solo trip I welcome it.

I don't recommend anyone with "mental issues" go alone. These aren't just little joy shrooms. They can be harsh too and it can be overwhelming. If you do it anyway, have someone available to talk to. Check out the fireside project https://firesideproject.org/psychedelic-citizenship

You really don't need much more than a quiet place where you won't be disturbed. For added comfort it helps to have someone sober who you trust nearby, access to outside if you want a change of scenery or some air, a good playlist and good headphones, comfy bed/couch with blankets. I always like to have "trip killers" on hand for peace of mind, benzos and/or trazodone work great. It really is reassuring knowing I can go as deep as I want and fully cancel the trip if things go too far south, though I've never had to actually use the pills and don't plan on it.

If this is your first trip, going solo adds a risk you may not want to take. A lot of it depends on you ability to cognitively control yourself in an overwhelming situation. Any mind altering drug will amplify your emotional response. I have found I am pretty good at rationalizing the situation and override my response when unexpected things happen although if I were to injure myself, I would still be at a major disadvantage. Most people though are likely to "freak out" in similar situations.
As far as a good environment, this is fairly straight forward. You want to find a space where you are feel safe both mentally and physically. Prepare your space with things you may need in an emergency, extra clothes, some food, and plenty of fluids. Avoid anything dangerous such as knives, guns, glass containers (they break), and you may want to leave your car keys somewhere else. You will also want things which occupy your mind. Being outdoors generally provides plenty.
