The cover for the arm holes kinda sucks, so I have to use extra clingwrap for it. Trying to figure out some better covers. I tried using 2-sided tape for the covering clingwrap with the idea of keeping those in the cardboard and replacing the clingwrap for different uses, but it turns out that cling wrap stick _hard_ to that kid of tape so it made them a one-time use tape. Next time I'll probably just use regular tape.
All in all, pretty happy with it. Probably too small for pour agar reliably, but was cheap, doesn't use up space when not in use and it fits my standing desk perfectly which makes it super comfortable to use
Love this one π Mc gyverism 15/10

Less ghetto than a plastic tub bought at Walmart with holes melted into the side with a coffee can?

Bumping because I think I am going to be in the market for a hood. Who has built the best hood for the cheapest? Talk to me.

I look down through the top (bottom) to see what I'm doing. I then sort of tuck it in when I put the unit up on a shelf for storage.
I keep meaning to upgrade, but it's turning into a "why bother" situation. I made this thing 7 years ago, and it's served me fine as my techniques have improved.

today i crown a winner. B's sab is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. The sheer volume of fucks not given moves me to tears.
all units be advised, the rating scale is no longer 1-10. its 1-B Traven.

I cannot compare it to anything else, but my YJINGRUI from the zon arrived in perfect condition. Iβve been very happy with it.

Hate to say it but the reviews don't inspire me with confidence. One guy seems like he kinda knows what hes talking about saying the flow isn't laminar at at all.

I forgot to add that the reviews on the zon are rough. I was concerned as wellβ¦until I did a little searching on Shroomery (plus free returns). They are pretty common here.

This is what I use and the only complaint is that it is loud because the blade is large and material is heavy.
It has been good for me for at least a year and a half. Check the FFU thread if you want some more reports. Some users got damaged units or filters but as far as I can tell it seems like the manufacturer will send you anything you need replaced if not a whole new unit.

If you are a carpenter or are down to build your own housing I wouldn't recommend it though. You could save a couple hundred dollars but it will come down to how much you value your time and skills. In the end it will get you to the same place.
