Not to say you don’t find your own pitfalls and challenges, I am confident you have finding your way to where you are now, I however, have never had a house/fridge/grow that had stable temps.
I have had a lot of crapy friges in the various rental places I have lived, with conditions like you mention, but it never affected the frig. Even the one with the frayed seal. It just caused the frig to work more/harder. My 2-cents. Have you noticed the the cents sign has vanished from the keyboards!

I'm streaking a bunch of 60mm plates and just waiting for pins to clone.
It's not a set percentage. Depends on genetics, agar, conditions, etc.
I know..I'm just trying to get enough clones so I don't have to wait on spores to germinate again if they end up being weak. Thanks tho

Basically I bought 15ml cryo vials, filled about 3/4 of distilled water, PC them, once cool I dropped in a small colonized agar piece about the size of a grain of rice. A little myc grew off the agar and floats around in stasis. Now I have a steril culture that will last years. No need to refrigerate and takes less room than slants.
Well, I just got tired of waiting for entire ketchup cups to colonize and the shipping box would be big, so my friend here showed me and I almost put agar in them like a slant with a half toothpick, then I thought just put the little agar piece...lol

I’ve been reading about the reaching mycelium everything here is so outdated eh ..
Bro. Everything here is NOT outdated. There is a search engine tek link in my signature. Check it out. The Shroomery is cutting edge and THE source for how to do this right.
Especially when we’re new to this, we pick a tried and true tek and follow it to the letter. That’s how we get results. What tek are you following?
Read this.
Check this out too.

Quick question please. I have a seriously contaminated jar, which is now begun pinning, and growing fast daily. I have it covered with a plastic bag with holes cut. Is there nothing which has to be done, such as replenishing a little water since that seems to be what mushrooms need to grow ? I have removed a coir casing since this photo yesterday. Thanks for any advice !

Dude! No way man! Your TEKs are just as relevant now as they were when they were created!
I believe I actually had this discussion a few days ago as it pertained to the usage of a SGFC.
Traditional TEKs, New TEKs, whatever...if it's a TEK on the Shroomery and especially if it was written by a Trusted Cultivator it is and always will be valid!
I mean hello!!! Have you guys not heard of the Elementary Coir TEK?!?! Still one of the most WIDELY used substrate recipes and methods for growing cubes! Better check the born on date because whether people realize it or not it just celebrated it's 13 year Birthday January this year!
Anyone still use the PF TEK?
Whether it's an update or a spin off, doesn't matter...TEK is TEK!
Sounds like some people need to review their history....just
Man ...come on y'all!
Now, everyone have a nice day! I gotta take my meds now!
