All these differences, that's just fascinating! I'd be super curious to grow Semp from a different lineage from the one I have going atm.

On another note, I'm coming out of 3 grams Cyanescens trip. To be honest I'm disappointed, it wasn't very strong in terms of visuals and the energy didn't feel great. Lots of dark thoughts and I just couldn't help myself comparing the trip to Semperviva. Maybe I'll give it another try in a year or so.

I yet have to go on higher doses with Natalensis which I feel has a lot of potential, but for me "Mex. A" and Semperviva (especially Semp) are my favorites! Hands down. I've reached the point where I don't want to grow any other active than Semp! Which will save me time  (who am I kidding?! I've just started growing gourmets...)

Also, I've been microdosing 65 mg of Semp every other day (on average, sometimes I forget to take the caps) for the last couple of month. This plus daily meditation, daily reading, the usual weightlifting regimen and started habit tracking too from Atomic Habits (Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results by James Clear) - it's a really nice synergy. I feel way calmer and even keeled. I defo feel the Semp microdose makes me happier, it gives me a more positive outlook on Life, it makes me more present focused (whereas I have a bit tendency to live in the future only).

Anyway, those are my middle-of-the-night-can't-get-to-sleep-yet 2 cents

Good job on the growths everyone :mushroom2:

Awesome that it works for ya! Seems like we agree on the microdose about exactly. Lol

Which Cyans? You mean Psilocybe, right?

The highest I've gone with natalensis was 3.5 grams and the body high was so strong I don't think I have the balls to go higher. I felt very warm and cozy, but if I stoop still for long enough I would start to go numb starting from my feet and working its way up my body.

I've tried 4 grams, split into two doses. It was very... green, and almost comforting. But not long enough or strong enough of a trip to really "get" Natalensis.

I've taken up to 6g dry with nats and only noticed a slight difference in it's effects. They aren't very visual in my experience, more of a good body high with tons of energy after fighting through an initial tiredness. I do have a natural high tolerance though. My buddy that tried them won't go over 2 or 3. He said they rocked him pretty good but nothing that was heavy like a cube trip. Nats are all he wants to do now.
I can't wait to try these semps. If they are anything like I've read about I'll probably stick with these for a while and forget about cubes. Still need to try pans too.
Quick question, I have a pretty big semp that seems super tough. I squeezed it and it will not flex at all. The one next to it is slightly soft and flexes quite a bit when squeezed. How fibrous are these things and is it normal for them to be that hard.

Yes, now that you mention it, I remember (it was last summer) the initial extreme tiredness!

We'll all be curious to read what you think about Semp, for sure

Mine are quite fibrous, and harder when they're on the dry side (ie not misted much).

If you're interested, I have one print from this grow and can share it, I bought this species from Angam and it was lc. He only told me it comes from the US, so I don't know the lineage.
And hopefully I'm getting at least couple of prints from the shrooms that are maturing right now, the initial spores are from captainfuture:heart:

Yes please :yesnod: :pm:

Thanks! Microdose-dose brothers

Psilocybe Cyanescens yes.

Edit: I was hoping the Experience with Psilocybe Cyanescens would be more comparable to Semilanceata, actually. I don't know why I had this expectation.

Ya mate I feel you. These woodlovers can be pretty dark sometimes. Like my most recent trip, with Azzies. Set & setting could be even more important with them than with other species. However I do find dark trips beneficial too, just not in a conventionally "fun" way.

When are these things ready to pick? This one is about 12 days from when it pinned. Maybe another week? How big do these things get? The discovered spots are where I tried squeezing it to see if it was soft.

Had 0.5gr yesterday, wasn't expecting much as I had 0.37gr last time in the cinema and was underwhelmed. So.. 0.5gr.. finely ground.. well, that was the only difference. Made some tea.. with a buddy of mine, watching a movie.. but it was much more than I bargained for.. went from 0 to lvl 2 in 30min or so.. bordering lvl 3. buddy of mine didn't feel comfortable and insisted on leaving, also went to bed and that trip didn't try take 3h.. but 4.5h came in waves.. so wasn't expecting that either.. don't underestimate the dose.. bit challenging and didn't like the idea of my girlfriend coming home so that didn't help steering it in the right direction.. as you can't let go.. a well.. another lesson learned.

Yeah man you gotta be careful with these potent species. It doesn’t seem like you took much more than the first time since it was only like .13 but it was actually like 40% more. With cubes it would like adding another 1.5g or something like that.

That is true, I also have different batches, and just take the amount I need and grind them up.. one mushroom could be potent.. and the other 1/2 strength.. took half of the tea initially, but after a few minutes just downed the rest ignorantly assuming I would be fine. My buddy said he's ok, but I'm curious what he experienced, as it was his first time over lvl 1, which also made me feel bad getting him in that situation. But yeah he said it's fine.

  Pseudosclerotium, not a true sclerotia. Somewhat common with these.

I have fallen for this before  but by coincidence- did so 2 or 3 days ago using my cheaper scale to measure out .3 (ostensibly) before going on a walk down some utility access trails.  Had to go to the store after my walk and it was quite uncomfortable.  There's this old lady that wears heavy makeup like Mimi on that old Drew Carey  show and I was busting a sprocket trying not to crack up talking to her :feelsweirdman:  I get "bit" by these far more often than anything else in my shroom cabinet...  Furthermore I should know better than to use my 9 dollar scale to measure subtrops...

So I see people saying around 0.5g dry is a good dose for these. I like to trip pretty hard, would anyone advise starting with 1-1.5g dry?

Yeah I'd start at 1.5 with your goal in mind.  1.5 - 2 is my preferred dose with these, honestly.  If you get a crazy batch you won't be left drooling for hours at that dose but you won't be disappointed either.  I know it's subjective and you've heard this about them before,  but they really are... mellow?... in some indescribable way.  But in the 2.5 - 3g range they can still get pretty fuckin weird IME.

If you have the Ambrose culture, start with 0.5

.5g bandwagon here too. Tea and be ready. The early onset can be felt within 4 minutes of completion sometimes. I've noticed no real difference in cultures having worked with several isolations from Workman's spores.. However, I do see a consistent increase with fruits grown on cased millet. Maybe millet is actually Octostump eggs.

Yes please!
:awesomenod:

I need to know if this is a just me thing.
My friends wouldn't know how to gauge and think they are all killer.

RR posted in regards to Cordyceps being grown on millet and having a higher alkaloid content.. probably a decade ago or so. That article created quite an interest with me and maybe it planted a set & setting seed in my head. I would love to have some objective opinions even if I am leaning towards it being true.

Mine are not Ambrose (afaik) so I'll start with 1g dry. At for the millet vs other grain, this shoebox is spawned with millet and my other shoebox is oats. Both are from the same liquid culture cleaned up on agar for 6 transfers so, they should be relatively closer in genetics than mss to grain. I'll report back with weights from each but since I spawned the oat shoebox last week it will be a while.
