There a dude on fb mushroom market uk selling a presto 23. 150 delivered.

Also marketplace for used instant pot 7.6 litres. If you hunt around you can find them used for 50 quid. People either don't use them or upgrade to an air fryer combo or whatever.

If your gonna run a presto on an induction you have to get the induction version.  And know that your hob can handed the weight

A smaller PC means you may only be able to get a couple of jars in per cycle. I have a 6L prestige thing that I use for agar now and I can only fit 2 quart jar in at a time.

A 23 quart presto can fit 10 quart jars in.

They both need running for the same amount of time, so the 6L I have to spend 10 hours running vs 2 hours for the presto... If that makes sense?

Just get the presto, you'll only be buying it in a few months time anyway and regretting the one you buy now.

I think you'll be fine with a small pc if you want to just make grain. Sounds like you dont even need that much.

Yeah the electrics are nice for the set and forget.

Hi Uk folks!

I've just thrown my toys out of the pram trying to do my polyfil for grain lids... Carpal tunnel and teddy bear stuffing ain't the best Friday evening job.

Anyone using them microppose things? Or SFDs?

I can find SFDs but they seem to be £4 for one! :jawdrop:

If using the microppose discs, how many times can they go through the PC?

Thanks in advance. :specialralph:

I've used both the Microposse filters and the generic equivalents on AliExpress. They both work fine.

I started replacing them after roughly 6 months of regular use, when the filter material began to separate from the substrate slightly.

Take a look at hydrophobic 0.22 PTFE filter discs on AliExpress too.

Excellent, they seem cheap enough and I only do 10 jars every few months anyway.

Thanks man! :aliendance:

Found this cheap Gypsum on Amazon.co.uk. Any reason why this wouldn't work for our purposes?

Also let's talk tubs.

What's your favourite tub size/s and where are you getting them from.

I'm running some 5.6L from Wilkos. They're extra tall and skinny though. Close to start fruiting so will see how they do.

Also looking for some short wide 12ish L ones. And maybe sone decent 30 or 50 L ones.

A mix of IKEA SAMLA and Really Useful Boxes from Asda/George. I've had a look around the usual discount retailers and concluded they were similarly priced but relatively poorly constructed.

I prefer the shorter tubs with a larger surface area when possible over the taller tubs that tend not to be utilised as efficiently.

Home bargains is good. Got a massive sab from there. Unsure of the size but it's perfect.like 6 quid for a huge sab.
