They already remastered RE4 for the 360/PS3, dis one a full remake. The other recent RE remakes are tits tho, this one probably is too.

Resident Evil 4 (PS3) was a great game. I don't think the new one will be as good.
The new RE4 should have been made 100% like the PS3 version for people who loved the original game.

My bad .
Still I would assume that most found the PS3 version to be the best one at the time, and that's why I was referring to that version of the original game.

PS3 version was an HD remaster released 4 years after the original. It was released on game cube and later PS2 originally, and those are the versions I imagine most people remember.

I only had the PS3 and PS2 so I wasn't aware of the gamecube release, still I'd have to think that many more people had a PS2 or PS3 then the gamecube so that would have been the first time they became aware of the game. Still I was wrong about the original version as pointed out .
I will be comparing the game to the PS3 version.

For sure people will compare it to the version they played. I played the ps2 one, which I imagine is what most played it in originally as the gc was not that popular if a system (but smash melee ruled)

I beat the Remake finally last night. On hardcore. It's a long game and some of the segments are rather difficult. There were some parts where I almost ran out of ammo completely. Going for another Professional run this weekend.
People will always compare it to the original. I sure did. I would say most things were done better but some weren't, mainly the voice acting and tone of the characters - though that could just be nostalgia talking.
The PS2 version is identical to all other versions except it has shittier graphics and it debuted Separate Ways which was not on the Gamecube version.
