ID turkey tail
    #28238416 - 03/20/23 06:15 PM (10 months, 3 days ago)

Habitat:
I found these on a trail in Beaverton Or, on a birch tree . The top has that velvet feel and the bottom is yellow with some white. I have no spores, but is the bottom yellow from spores being released.

I think you can clone just about any mushroom to agar, but I've read it can be difficult to get a clean piece of tissue from things found in nature.
I found this from a search, lots of helpful info in this thread.

I took a piece of the cap to agar after spraying it with 70% alcohol, two days ago. You could see the growth 6hrs later. Turkey tail mycelium is really aggressive.
I found two more samples today. I'm also waiting on the spores I transfer to take off from yesterday.
