wen't hunting today and ... ( pics )
    #2823599 - 06/24/04 11:34 AM (12 years, 5 months ago)

I wen't hunting today in the woods and founds some nice shrooms . Well  , i had no luck in finding psilocybe mushrooms but i found many amanitas ( phalloides and pantherina ... ) , i think if i picked all the amanitas , i would have like 3 kg of them .

But now about nontoxic shrooms , i found some beutyfull boletus shrooms that i'm gonna enjoy today in the evening , found some russula too that are great to add salted on barbeque . I found some other nice tasting shrooms too .

Conditions for shrooms here ( at the moment ) are fantastic . Constant temperature ( for 2 weeks now ) about 22-30 C degrees and high air and ground humidity . Insolation is preety high too so its realy great for shroom hunters . I'm glad that i wen't searching today becose this was my first hunt this year and it was realy great . All of the shrooms were found on 600 meters altitude ...

I know that amanita pantherina is active , but i heard something like it damages our health so i didn't want to experiment with any . Amanita pantherina is very poisonous and can be deadly so i would need to have a precise scale to measure the dose , which i don't have

So here are finnaly some pics , this is all of the stuff i collected -

Here you can see a wonderfull amanita pantherina -

One of the most deadly shrooms that can be found here -

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I also found theese shrooms that i didn't have time to identify , does any of you people have an idea what could they be ? ( they were all found on forrest terrain )

theese here are also unknown ( ??? )

Hm... i didn't make no prints :frown:  , i didn't even think that theese shrooms could be active .

I think the spores should be dark purple becose you can see on the older example that the under side of the cap started to get darker .

The shroom in the middle was under the shroom that im talking about ( down left corner ) so this dark spot on it could be spores too ...

Hm... I have the "shroom key" somewhere ( detailed guide on identyfieng shrooms ... )

What do you think about it ?

Well, if you ask me they look like they could possibly be psilocybes.  Of course, that's only based on appearance, a good print will tell you for sure.  I think they're definitely worthy of further investigation though .

Can someone else comment about theese shrooms that i found ???

I will maybe go tommorow again to investigate , great thing is that this place is 12 kilometres from me and that it is preety high altitude so it's going to be a great adventure ( i love MTB-ing ) ...

I know the exact location where i found thoose today so ill look for them tommorow too ( if i will go there ) ...

It is said that it's going to rain all day tommorow with a slight temperature fall ( at 21 C degrees ) and then in saturday again temperatures raiesed at 27 C d. Perfect for shrooms !

Please if someone can also comment about theese shrooms ?

Interesting stuff.

I don't think your Amanita phalloides is really that species. The volva is wrong. A. phalloides has a sacklike volva, and yours appears to have a rimmed bulb. Just as a wild guess I'd probably put your specimen closer to A. rubescens. A good test would be to get some Meltzer's Reagent (Tincture of Iodine seems to work pretty well as a substitute) and check to see if the spores are amyloid. The spores of A. phalloides are amyloid, but I suspect that the spores of your specimen will not be.

The gills on the first of your unknown mushrooms look to me as though they are free and they may be pinkish. That would suggest that those are Pluteus. A spore print will go a long way towards putting them in the correct genus.

The last ones suggest Stropharia to me. A spore print will help resolve things. Psilocybe is another good possibility.

Happy mushrooming!

Ill go hunting in a few days and then ill pick theese shrooms and make some prints .

Is there a reagent to test active mushrooms ( genus psilocybe ) ? I have various so i can make some tests ...

If theese shrooms are psychoactive , then what specie could we expect it to be ? ( that grows in conditions that i mentioned in the first post and in this tim of the year ) ?

ps. i just ate one of the boletus aereus , its deliscious

hi baltazar,

i think you can use "metol" (p-Methylaminophenolsulfate) to test for psilocybin.

mjshroomer wrote this:

"There are, of course, certain chemical applications used to speed up
the bluing reaction which occurs in psilocybian mushrooms. One method
involves "metol", a chemical used in photographic developing. "metol"
can be legally purchased from any camera and photographic supply outlet.
Mix 1 part metol with 20 parts water. Place the stem of the suspected
mushroom in a "metol" solution and wait for approximately 1/2 hour.
If the solution turns blue, you have actually collected a mushroom containing Psilocybin"

pozdrav

Ill try to find this chemical , i think i don't have it at home but i will maybe find it , as said , from photographic supply outlet ...

Nice that we have a new shroomer here  welcome !

One question for you - your from central Europe as i can see , did you try to hunt some psilocybe shrooms in your region ? I'm asking becose we probably live in the same climate so we could find same type of shrooms ...

Pozdrav prijatelju
