Repeats some of what has been discussed but also some interesting info that the top 'head' around 6inches has lower concentration then following region.
Higher content in the ribs than the groves... How does this affect "4 wind" since it is equal parts rib and grove? Doesn't matter much since we use entire volume.
The center of the crown is near the apex but not the actual apex since there is no flesh there for maybe a cm around.

Very interesting, I wouldn't have expected there to be that much variation along the length of the cactus. Wonder why that is

Theory -- Still-growing and expanding parts of the cactus have lower concentrations.

Assuming that grooves expand to accommodate more girth, say from growth or overwatering, a variant with an extra rib may technically contain extra mescaline, on the whole.
This is just a thought experiment or word problem, with which I have no direct experience.

Lol you're everywhere bro. That seems likely, alternatively, since mescaline is a defence mechanism for the cacti maybe they have evolved to prioritise those parts. That would make sense to me, an animal biting off the head seems like it would be easier to recover from than a bite clean in half. I'm still a noob when it comes to cacti though so take it with a grain of salt.

This has been discussed before, because grafting onto Pereskiopsis was *supposed to* result in lower concentrations of mescaline in the Loph scion, while during rapid growth. Has it been measured? idk. I am repeating hearsay. Don't bank on this.
The tissues least prone to expansion would be least diluted.

Alternatively, concentration could be affected by light. They are just guesses, for more experiments.
