 Amanita Muscaria vs. cubes

So I just noticed there is a vendor selling A. muscaria. I've read a bit about tripping on them and am really curious about it. How different are they? Is the trip very different than cubes? would it be worth spending the money? (I knw, that one is subjective.)
It's a bucket list thing I guess.. I'm still wanting to try LSD and peyote as well..

i got scared because of the vomiting aspect, i don't have anyone to keep on my side.
although i gotta say, i think i did like 7-8 grams in a tea one time, a few grams under the recommended dosage, and it was the cleanest puke i ever had.
i smoke a lot of weed, they say it don't work as good for people who smoke a lot of weed.

The experience is nothing like psilocybe mushrooms as their active component is not psilocybin or psilocin. I don’t think the mushrooms are even psychedelic and maybe more of a deliriant. They require their own unique research, they should be prepared in certain ways you might not consider and will make you feel ways you’ve never felt.

I saw some company online selling "mushroom gummies" they said were 1-2 grams a piece. Tried to figure out how it was legal, turns out they were amanita. That'd make for a messed up first experience if you thought you were getting the same "magic mushrooms" as your friend but you end up foaming and raving at them while they trip in psilocybin-world.
Edit: due to ease and quality, OP, I would definitely prioritize the acid. I'm interested in trying peyote (not so much amanita) but the convenience of eating paper -> minimal comeup -> electric trip... LSD would be my fav if I could make it myself.

I ordered some 3 Oz of amanitas 2 weeks ago, I figure it should be enough to get a semi decent experience, and it should arrive in the next month or so. I will let you know what the experience is like vis a vis psilocybin mushrooms.

No, I haven't ever tried amanitas just to be clear. But I'm thinking of doing a basic soup(so instead of tossing the material you eat the rehydrated mushrooms), and simmer them for a bit longer than cubes, since you have to decarboxylate like with cannabis.

They grow everywhere where I live! I live around 9k ft and take a drive for about 20min up around 10k ft and find them everywhere. However, still have yet to experiment with them.

Three ounces is plenty more than one good experiment. Nibble on until get to where see good.
Oral Amanita muscaria Dosages
Light 1 - 5 g (1 medium cap)
Common 5 - 10 g (1 - 3 medium caps)
Strong 10 - 30 g (2 - 6 medium caps)
Onset : 30 - 120 minutes
Peak : 1 - 2 hours
Duration : 5 - 10 hours (higher doses seem to last longer)
Normal After Effects : 1 - 5 hours

I grow plenty of cubes. Picked 3-4 last fall, dried them, but didn't end up consuming. Haven't researched them enough to give it the go.
This fall for sure though!!!

Sounds intriguing. I'll definitely look into prep and dosage more and plan a foraging trip. I've read mixed reviews and opinions so was always weary. Appreciate the insight!

I meant to get to a point where the reverse tolerance is such that I will get effects from low doses. If it's anything like African entheogens the ritual and the cultivation of the plant spirit in your body is much more important than for psilocybin mushrooms to get effects, and that is what I have been reading about it. So my plan is to microdose 3/4 days a week with macro doses every 2 weeks or so to get some momentum going.

How different is the trip? The big thing I love about cubes is the sense of connectedness to myself and to nature .. and how long that lasts (months!). I can eat a couple of grams and I'm communing with the trees, it's really spiritual. .. And, I don't do stupid shit on cubes, just chill and enjoy the show. I don't want anything that will have me running naked through the neighborhood.

Amanitas are psychoactive but not psychedelic. I have an acquaintance that forages both the muscaria and the pantherina locally and he likes them. They sound horrible to me, black out for 10-12 hours and have very vivid nightmares. I'll stick with cubes.

that's funny, this amanita account i follow on IG posted some lab reports showing x name brand amanita gummies not containing ibutonic acid and muscimol but psilocybin.
