Fuiting Chamber
    #2823294 - 06/24/04 07:49 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Just a quick question, yesterday I bought 2 see through plastics tubs for fruiting chambers (each should hold 3 or 4 cakes). Do I need to cover the sides of the chamber to stop light getting in anywhere otherthan the top or are they fine as they are?

Also the lids are not completely airtight so I was just planning on using a layer or 2 of kitchen cleanfilm. Will this be good enough?

On the matter of it being airtight another way to do it is put some weather stripping around the lid. Ive also seen it done with silicone. People paint them black. I dont do anything though. depending on how big they are you can wrap them in foil also.
