Best not mess with "other" Amanitas lest you make a fatal error, but big bright-red muscarias with white warts are unmistakable growing under pine or birch. Go looking about a week into the Autumn rainy season.

Careful experimenting with these--they're not at all like Psilocybes and can be uncomfortable in smaller doses, dangerous in larger ones. Start low & cook thoroughly to reduce the sickening side effects.

MJ didn't mention any woodloving species, & I have no idea, but it's POSSIBLE that P. cyanescens, bohemica, or similar might grow in your area. Study up on the characteristics of bluing Psilocybes & keep an eye on woodchip/ rhododendron/ conifer habitats. If you spot something interesting, please let us all know & post photos if you can.
