Newfound Iraqi Freedom Curtailed

Iraqi citizens have been "guaranteed" by the Coalition, personal liberties befitting a free society the likes of which they have never before had.

Naturally, the new Iraqi "iterim" government's first action was to curtail the Iraqi civilians' personal liberties by declaring "temporary" martial law.

Only a few more months until civil war breaks out en masse...

The new Iraqi government has declared martial law? Hmmm.... *checks al-Reuters website, English al-Jazeera website, CNN and MSNBC websites* .... I guess the media hasn't picked up on that yet.

The new Iraqi interim government is calling the shots already? Hmm ... *checks calendar*.... Holy cow! They took power a week ahead of schedule! I wonder why al-Reuters, al-Jazeera, CNN, MSNBC and the others missed that story as well? As I've being saying all along, can't trust that darn Liberal media.

what's-his-name mentioned the possibility of instantiating
martial law at the start of the hand over as a means of keeping
a lid on things in the early days.

Exactly. I get my news a little earlier than the rest of you. I keep forgetting about human linear time...

Tralfamadorian I met the other day said nothing about a civil war. Said Iraq would have eight different prime ministers before free elections though due to assasination. So it goes.
