I'm aware that they are well paid, and I don't begrudge them that one bit. I don't see why that means they should be denied their collective bargaining rights.

I get it bro, it's the principle. From what I understand the whole breaking point was for like 7 extra sick days or something? Considering the effect it would have on the country, I don't see a reason to cause that big of a ruckus . All strikes are not created equal.

It happened a long time ago. People who had a problem with it had decades to voice their concern or try to get it changed.

They get paid more than other people do. So maybe they could save some of their money to cover their own sick days.

Biden looks bad because he came out all pro-union, and now it looks like he crossed them. Fine, I get it. But I'm not going to lose any sleep worrying about RR workers. I'm in the state that has the most RR workers per capita in the country. Most people here wish they could be a RR worker.

Not a fan of union busting or of railroad workers?

I don't really care that they make good money. I'm glad that they do.

It is legal though.  We're a notoriously anti-labor nation.

That's why, whether it's railworkers or dig ditchers, carpenters or coal miners, etc... I will support them. Whether they make $30 or $50/hour, they are not the enemy of the worker. In fact, they probably support a large number of lower wage workers in their family in a variety of ways.

Also, saying that "I get it, it's the principle... bur-de-dur"... Well, what are we if we aren't principled?

Rail transport is an essential industry. The government has to be involved because both management and labor have the ability to hold the economy hostage to get what they want. If the workers went on strike, millions of people would have been laid off.

All those people who were laid off could replace people at the rail yards.
