I have had a run of contamination and I am working on getting my problems corrected. I know it's not a great grow but considering I haven't got anything in the last 3 months, I'm ok with this. I managed to get 170g wet from this nasty shoebox of Trinity. This is only for me to test how good of a culture it is and to see if I want to continue growing these out move on to better things. Trich started about 5 days after the pin set came in and was just on the sides. The top started to get covered 3 days ago. I kept it in a sealed 27qt unmodded tub to hold the spores in. I also kept it well out of my normal area for growing. I waited a day too long and pseudomonas set in. So I only pulled what seemed to not be rotten. Some of them just turned to mush when I grabbed them. Blobs were not big enough to really care about so they stayed behind and went to the spent substrate heap. I will not be sharing any spores from this grow since I try not to spread contamination.

That novelty cheeseball container has been working so well, I'm gonna scale it up to these 5 gal water jugs. 1 vertical and 1 horizontal to experiment a little. I think on its side it'll be high enough for headspace and give more surface.

Have some AA+ prints from CBK from like 2016 or 2017 that just won’t germ. I had an old jar of dried fruit from 2018 that was grown from those prints and said fuck it and pulled some gill from a cap. The growth was so fast I assumed it had to be mold, and it may be, but the first transfer is acting awful cube like.

I've heard people do this on other forums but never saw any proof. Pretty cool!

Yeah I read all that back when I ordered the syringe. I think I know what I need to do. I’ll reiterate though Quote:

I read all that back when I ordered the syringe and didn’t see anything particularly relevant. I’ll be doing these in bottles and outdoors. More interested in deep knowledge about the species and not just how it does in a tub.

Edit: suggestion.
Run all FFU units into a junction box and feed them all from a switch fed from the load side of your receptacle.

That is a healthy mix of both playa and fiji traits in combination yet seen by me. Those are unique and cool. The cheese wheel fruits were a lot more Fiji looking...
This is the "cheese wheel" F1.

This is the Fiji.

This is Playa.

Those are some gnarly looking fruit, Nichrome. Thanks for sharing. I like those long thin snake looking Playas. My first shoebox from the spores you sent put up nothing but side pins, hundreds of them. More pins than I’ve ever seen on a shoebox. All long and thin like those. Before they matured the surface turned green and I tossed it. I thought they were just growing weird in response to the contam, but maybe they a bit more Playa like?
Pic tax, Natalensis trying to get through the glass.
