Avery's albinos.  Nice one from second flush although these dried from 302g down to only 18g,  so lots of water content!

Would love to see a Jack Frost crossed with Melmac. Great name as well to give it.  So if assuming correctly this is called a โ€œghetto crossโ€? Where you just swab both sets of fruits on one sterilized swab and than streak it on agar?
Making a cross and stabilizing it would be my ultimate goal in this hobby.

Yup exactly. Bought it used for 60 bucks these things can be pretty expensive so it was a steal.

It doesnt smell too bad because the 4" duct fan vents to outside. Thing is a beast and I love it haha.

@spg- the world? Thats all for me, everyone else can kick rocks  :kingcrankey:

Correct. Ghetto crossing is a crap shoot hoping to get spores from both donors to mate and produce a hybrid strain. Itโ€™s the most unreliable way to make a cross.

If your goal is to create and stabilize a new hybrid, you need scopes to verify monokaryons from both parent cultigens, and then verify the dikaryons from the cross. Then you can begin the stabilization process to ensure consistency in the traits youโ€™re selecting for.

A lot of the ghetto crosses end up just being clones from gill tissue on the swab, too, so another reason theyโ€™re not ideal. Theyโ€™re fun for learning about genetics, and I know there is hatred in the underground community for scientific/proper techniques, but just realize for serious breeding purposes, you will need to work with monokaryons.

Peace & Light,

Seeker604
