If S and P were a religious institution, which one would it be?
My vote is the Catholic church, because there is very little tolerance of conflicting opinions ideas from the priests (mods) who just want to preach about their non-existant truths and silence their opposition.

Its open... but i think its been basically been trying to keep people from expressing anger in the form of words.
I can see when people are starting to flame one another... its just "Distasteful" debate tactics.
Other than that i cant understand why anyone else wouldnt be allowed to voice their opinions.
If it is biased... i cannot see, because the posts can be removed without me noticing it.
Their has been a lot of "cleansing" of S&P since ive been here.
A lot of which has been shrouded in quiet... I can see how you would relate that to the Catholic Church

well, I generally concede 'fucking fascist' to be flaming and the likes for OTD and not S&P. Interrupting random threads with flames from nowhere is not cool.

Thats why i said for S&P, flames are not very appropriate... given the type of discussions we have here.
But otherwise... i hope you can see my point.
To silence someones opinion just because of the controversy isnt very open minded imo. This could lead one to believe that such silencing would be fascist.
In which case i hope you would agree.
If our revolution as a society is to take place, ignoring facts simply because of the controvery they stir, will only make us docile, and easy to manipulate.

yes and the facts are, flames are not allowed in this forum. If someone wants to communicate openly and rationally is one thing but to be disrespectful and condescending os entirely another. Flaming is entirely appropriate in OTD, but not here. Here you must express your hatred for us without resorting to name calling, which isn't very hard. Also, posting a flame in the middle of a thread that has nothing to do with the context is in my opinion very disrespectful to the poster of the thread as it disrupts the flow and is completely off-topic. Anyone who has a problem with their threads being MOVED can voice their concern to the MOD(s) who are responsible. Obviously making 10 similar threads that are off topic and challenging the mods and pushing the boundaries is not going to make your case any better.
I have not silenced anyone's opinion, and if I have, it was because it was against the rules of the forum. I didn't lock this post because I wanted to see if we can COMMUNICATE about it. So if anyone has a problem with the way things are run here, then speak your piece with respect so we can resolve the issue instead of causing uneccessary drama.

screw this.. I'm going to sleep. I have work in the morning and mod duty sure isn't a paying job. All I'm here for is to keep order in this forum.. we're not nazis by any means. If you don't like it, I challenge you to find a more accepting bulletin board. It's quite simple really... If you don't like the rules of S&P, then go to OTD. If you simply must post in S&P, then follow the very simple rules. We're a buddhist monastery if anything.

I for one am glad Shroomism took action. One of the reasons I prefer this forum to OTD is there are no flames and trolls. Be respectful and you will get respect in return.

this is a prime example of flaming on S&P without name calling. good post Pos.
i think we follow more of the mayan culture, cause you know, sacrifices have to be made sometimes to the gods.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

I find it shameful that people who scream about religious tolerance should casually run down other religions like the Catholics to make a really inane point. I know many fine Catholic people, just as I know Jews and Mormons who are excellant people. I don't have to agree with them to appreciate their quality.

i think the mod's do a good job, and in my time here ive seen a huge variety of oppinions, many conflicting. Doesnt seem to me like much of anything gets censored unless its hatefull or something

My whole family is catholic but myself. Their biggest handicap is lack of tolerance, they are not bad people at all, well, some are extremely conservative but they're happy in their own way. Sometimes ignorance is a bliss ....
