Noice thread brother.

By no means great but ti's the only plate pin I have right now. BK Mak on an old ass germ plate.
Started dealing with condensation and slower growth with such big temp fluctuations atm, thinking of insulating the closet and sticking LEDs in there for my grains and plates.

Y'all might enjoy these cannibal plate pins from a while back. They're FP+ plate pins that I cloned. Then plate pins grew directly off that cloned pin... Pinception

Popping a mature plate open and letting it exchange it's air and sealing it back up often causes a few plins to form for me.

Interesting... I have a Cosmoplex ATL7 plate sitting around that I have been hoping would start to pin. I think I'm gona open that sucker up and see what happens. It looks like it's starting to make stones and that's not what I wanted lol honestly I almost opened it earlier today and thought, no I should leave it be so thanks for the encouragement

Dug out this old pic of a Playa Uvita pin in honor of its discoverer being the progenitor of this thread 🤘

The mycoforum of my country just got their proof of shroomerys hostility. I do like it here though becaus of the agar. The archives are valuable.

I don’t know if this qualifies, but these shoeboxes are all plin clones.

Harvested today. Plin clone shoe boxes are so easy it’s pretty much all I grow now. Spore to agar, transfer, let the plates pin, clone the pin and then to grain. I don’t care how good and clean a plate looks. If it doesn’t make a pin, it doesn’t go to grain.

How long does it take your plates to pin, on average? I made 32 GT transfers on the 8th, to 97mm no-pours. Thinking of just letting them all ride until one of them pins... Hope they don't dry out, though. Should I get them into a mini water tub?
This strain is my least cooperative. Got it from LC from a nice guy in my province. I don't want to give up on it. Maybe it's senescence? I should try breeding it...

Adding new genetics into the mix is what nature would do to keep that one going. Like your thinking.
The culture is "bored".

I don’t keep track of it. However, just my experience is it’s all over the place. If I take a tiny transfer and it’s 19°C, it could take a month longer than a larger transfer at 25°C. Two plates I think are identical could pin 2 weeks apart for a reason I’ll never know.
If I had to answer, I’d say a month, but don’t quote me.🤷
