DO i need to boild my syringe everytime i pull from lc?

So i have 50ml glass syringes. When i expend it, do I just flame the tip and re insert or do i need to boil again?

No.  The plunger should keep everything in front of it clean.  You just have to flame the needle/wipe the inoc port (at least I would) each time you fill in a single session.

I was wondering this too, thanks. IF I ever pick up lc again I'll remember this.

You can't reuse a syringe to pull lc unless you sterilize the syringe fully.

Innoculating is different.

I guess I assumed OP meant refilling the syringe during a single inoculation session

Yes this.

I would have already sterilized my glass syringes with boiling water and elt cool before this inoculation session.

If you refill a syringe it has to be sterilized again.
You can't empty it and refill it like it's still clean, the very process of expunging the syringe will introduce contamination in the now empty syringe.

So your saying after flamming my tip and alcohol the injection port, pull LC inoculate grain bags, leave just a little LC left in the syringe, flame sterilize, alcohol wipe injection port and do it again.

Your saying this wont work?

That is different to what you originally said.
You can't draw up lc into a used syringe but you can use a syringe until it's empty by simply flaming the needle.

Syringe starts sterile. Using sterile technique, draw up LC, everything still sterile. Using sterile technique push out LC - into whatever, all at once or a little at a time - LC left in syringe is still sterile, but the inside of the barrel of the syringe (behind the plunger) is now exposed to open air. If you draw anything back into the syringe you potentially contaminate it. Before refilling, to ensure sterility, you should be using new sterile syringe or putting yours through a PC.

The same way you PC anything else? Put it the PC?

Maybe I’m not understanding the question. I don’t use glass syringes, I use sterile single use syringes because I have easy access to them. When I had to reuse syringes I would either wrap them in foil, or stick them in a quart jar and run them through a PC cycle. I never bought into the draw boiling water into a syringe a few times thing. That won’t actually sterilize.

Last time (also the first time) I PC'ed syringes, I filled 10mL syringes (leftovers that I got with active LC from a reddit vendor) with 5mL RO water. Tightly foiled and leaned against/inbetween grain jars. That cycle went two hours. One syringe was entirely empty after, the other had about 3mL left, with a bunch of new air that I didn't really know if I could trust.

The dead one had a completely blown-out rubber seal, the nipple of it was flared up and spiky, and there wasn't any real resistance when aspirating/expunging anymore. Woohoo, fresh trash!

I think some rubber seals are more durable than others. But I might try the jar method next. That's just gonna take up a ton of room unless I get some fresh syringes that are smaller than 60 mL. 60 mL is way too big for Josex pokes. Might have to run them by themselves for a much shorter time, too. 2 hours is a lot of opportunity to boil out water.

I can see the appeal of glass syringes, but it all comes down to the plunger seal in the end.

Many glass syringes use ground glass seal, no rubber plunger. With proper care they can last almost forever.
