My second flush from an all in one grow kit, think I've been incredibly lucky, going push my luck and try for a third. Think I'm ready to move on to something more complicated now. Thank you to everyone on the forum, it was all a bit baffling to begin with. Various posts have been very helpful.

If you really like growing mushrooms, take the time to research a little bit before buying a new setup. I was so exited when I first started that I kinda rushed my decisions and therefore wasted a lot of time and money. If I would’ve been on the forum for a little bit longer I could’ve saved that.
The only thing I can recommend you is to listen to the people here. I try to keep everything simple and orientate myself on the proven teks of Jedi, Bod, Pasty and so on.
Oh, and yes do agar work. Don’t be like me and listen to Reddit Threads, wasting Money on MSS and Grains because I was lazy.

Thanks for the advice. At the moment I've only bought a 60 litre tub, some verm, perlite and coir. I'm waiting for my hubby to make me a mono tub, as he won't let me loose with his power tools.
I was going to look at PF Tek and I've seen people recommending water tubs. I think agar is a bit out of my comfort zone right now but I'll get there.
I started this journey just wanting some mind altering drugs but I've definitely got the bug. They are amazing little creatures.

You should definitely use water tub instead of perlite, its a mess to be honest. Also agar is fairly easy, mistakes happen but thats the fun part of learning imo
and welcome!

Welcome and all of that good stuff. Agar is cheap and easy. Perlite isn't needed, unless you're doing something like PF Tek I think and you don't need to make a monotub, just use an unmodified tub.
Check out Bod's unmodified tub tek.
