Should I sterilize my plastic catchup cups for use with Agar or do they come sterile enough?

Hi, I have collected a few spore prints from my last grow.
Needless to say, the prints are not sterile. So, as much as I love to half-ass things, this time around I will have to clean the spores up through agar. I don't think there is another way to do that.

I watched a video by PhillyGoldenTeacher. and I decided that for my agar needs I will be using plastic catchup cups, because they are cheap and easy to find where I live and because, unlike petri dishes, they do not require the use of ParaFilm or any other sealant (which is very expensive and also very hard to find where I live).
I will also be using the oven tek when pouring the agar in to the cups (also shown in PGT's video). Or maybe a SAB, haven't decided yet.

My question is: PhillyGoldenTeacher claims that catchup cups are sterile enough the way they come from the factory. But are they really?
Should I bleach the fuck out of them beforehand, just to be sure?
Thanks!

You won't make them any better by bleaching. Have seen a few people on here using them straight out of the pack but it's not that popular and not 100% reliable. Success rate will vary with how they are packed and brand as well I suppose.

Use a SAB, oven-tek is old garbage from the early days.

If cups and lids are both made from PP then you also have the option to make no pours which is what I do for a few years now.

Just pour a few and see if they contam. I myself poured around 100 cups and had maybe 5% contam rate but it will wary by manufacturer, packaging etc. as Baba said.
I switched to petris myself and i don't wrap them, but yeah i keep them in SAB so that's probably reason why i don't have problem about them contaming.

Don't worry mate, what you're gonna feel is a slight burning in your heart, your lungs, your brain, your kidneys, your liver, bottom of your feet, your eyeballs, then you start bleeding from your nose and ears, then you start tripping out and seeing everything in the form of an anime cartoon which is really fucking cool.

Thanks, guys.
I think i will do a version of no pour, but in glass jars. I am not sure if the catchup cups that I have access to are made of PP.
