Growing psilocybin mycelium blobs like they do to grow mushroom bacon?

So I don't know if this has been discussed at all yet as I've been away from this place for a long time and don't even remember what my account name used to be. Although recently I saw a video on how mushroom bacon was made where they used a fancy controlled environment chamber to keep the air inside of it at the same conditions needed for mycelium to grow in the soil. What this did was it led to the mycelium growing and rising out of the soil into these big blobs where they would just slice the exposed mycelium off and I'm not sure if they put the substrates back in for another flush or what. I was just wondering if y'all here would think that it would be interesting and/or useful to see that method replied for psylocibin mushrooms to get giant blobs of psylocibin mycelium that could be cut into strips, air dried, and dosed out as is. Is this something that's possible for a fancy home grower to be able to accomplish or even the average home grower or is this too complex a method for anyone to accomplish without a production factory farm type setup with extremely advanced equipment?
Just wanted to initiate a discussion on the topic and see where it went if it hasn't already been discussed before. If it has sorry for not finding it and please point me in the right direction.

I am guessing noone has tried - the bacon imitator mycellium is supposed to look like bacon for its function, whereas no one has an issue with cubes looking like cubes if they make you trip!

The mycelium of Cubensis doesn't contain that much psilocybin. The mycelium of Ps. Mexicana and/or Ps Tampanensis contains large amounts of psilocybin - if left to grow invitro grows 'stones' that are hardened and contain lots of actives. This process usually takes 3-6 months growing invitro. You could grow the mycelium of cubensis and extract psilocybin from it but the results in terms of actives will be negligible compared to these two species (Tampanensis or Mexicana).
They can be grown using standard methods talked about here, agar transfer to sterilized grain.
Read stonesun's guide. Visit the sclerotia thread. And buy some tamp spores and get started.

Ah I see... I thought the mycelium had a lot of psylocibin for some reason. Guess it would definitely be a waste of time then.

I wouldn't call a waste. The activity of cubensis mycelium is usually reported to be low but there have been a few tests done. Some report results and some don't. If you wanted to try it it would at least be useful.
My guess is unless you grew a LOT of it and extracted it (such as in tea), most of your trips would be level 1-2 or less though. And at the point when you're doing that just spawning it would produce far more psilocybin.
And I would add that this exercise would be not only useful but very productive if you just adjust the psilocybin species and grow tampanensis instead...
