Nice work, spawn used per tub? Sorry for the questions, just interesting to catalog things correctly.

Powdered my last harvest today. 8250g of nats became 648g of powdered dry mushrooms this week.
Starting my potency preservation experiment with this.

MS PEU mini mono showing some promising clusters with good candidates for cloning. First time I've had success with keeping a PE variety from blobbing. Gonna try and hang on to some of these genetics.

HumbleChemist said: Spore solution trickle path highlighted in sharpie in second pic, looks like each jar wall that got MSS solution consistently has one grain about 1/2" from surface colonizing first. Would this suggest spores germinate/grow better on grain with relatively high O2 exchange?
Since no one has answered yet, I'll take a shot at this.. Afterwards more knowledgeable people can educate us both
I think it's just a coincidence. Two compatible spores just happened to meet there. Mycelium will grow anywhere in your grain jar if the grains are properly hydrated.
If you haven't done agar work before, I'd suggest you give it a try. It's not that hard and will give better results than MSS to grain.

I just harvested my second box of this mystery variety. It was supposed to be tidal wave, but I'm not buying it.
I ran a small experiment when making these two boxes. Both have 1 pint of the same g2g spawn expanded from one deli cup of oats and 3 of coco.
Both boxes were cased with a fair amount of coco but plenty to cover the grains.
However, with the second box, the one I harvested today, I sprayed the hell out of the casing layer until it turned noticeably darker.
Box 1 was harvested 1 day faster, had more white mycelium covering the surface and I harvested about 307 grams.
Box 2 was harvested a day later and had far less surface coverage of mycelium. However, I got 357 from this harvest. This also had more clusters.
The first pictures are of it half-picked and on the scale.
The last pic is the weight of yesterday's pull. I will run this a few more times and see if I can noticeably increase my yield. In a study I read, the first flush pulls a lot of moisture from the top of the substrate, but the second one draws from the bottom. Anyhow, I thought this could be a fun experiment.
