This appears to be the case with a rumble link. Can this be remedied? Odysee.com is another video site to use.

This can be done by simply typing in the name of video host sites right? Please add www.odysee.com www.rumble.com
Can i get response to this from a mod?

It would be more straightforward to add support for Odysee than for Rumble. With Odysee it's possible to convert directly from the page URL to the embedable video URL by adding '/$/embed' in the URL. So someone could paste:
https://odysee.com/@fireship:6/chatgpt-is-a-perfectly-balanced-ai-with:6 and we could automatically change it to: https://odysee.com/$/embed/@fireship:6/chatgpt-is-a-perfectly-balanced-ai-with:6
With Rumble that doesn't work. We need the totally different URL you get from clicking the "Embed" link. Eg:
https://rumble.com/v28haj4-goldeneye-episode-5-no-commentary.html needs to become: https://rumble.com/embed/v25vd5e/?pub=4
So I can probably accommodate the request, but Rumble videos would always require the extra step of grabbing the embed URL manually, which is different from how it works for every other video site we support.
I'm curious how many people actually use these sites though? I'd never heard of either of them before your post.

I have not looked at the metrics but hopefully more people will use them to hedge against the monopoly and censorship of youtube.
Here is an article making the case why people should use other sites.

I agree about Youtube's video monopoly, but in my experience, adding support for a site won't convince anyone to use it. The last time this sentiment went around, I added support for DTube and I don't think it's been utilized once. I still haven't gotten around to ripping out the code for Metacafe, which was supported for over a decade but hardly ever used and now that site and all its videos are gone. We're a small operation and just in the interest of utilizing time efficiently, I'm more inclined to focus on supporting sites people are actually using now, rather than the ones I wish they were using. But I will keep this request in mind.

That means you are not going to implement it right?

No I added support for Odysee, but like I said Rumble would be more problematic so I didn't mess with that one. Unfortunately, Odysee seems to mute videos that are embedded with the autoplay flag, so if you have the "Auto-play embedded media?" option set to "No" in your display preferences, you will have to click to unmute the videos after clicking to play them.
