I wouldn't worry about white spines.... unless you're not watering them enough.

Sunburn is when they get red. If they get red... move them to a less sunny spot.

I'm pretty sure white spines are the standard for san pedro...could be wrong though....now if your peyote starts develoing spines you should probably post some pictures and plan on making a lot of money selling pups and seeds from this super rare peyote :grin:

The san pedro and other trich will do fine in the sun. The peyote will not. I'd move that one into a shadier spot.
