Godamnit! I was digging in the soil looking for a sprout and broke one off and killed it! I planted another seed just in the soil in that pot to see if it will come up without soaking it in water overnight-2 days like the last few seeds. It did seem to have a yellowing cotyledon on the end of one and it might be due to that "living soil" and the nutes in it I don't really know as I've never used auto seeds or this kind of soil. *SIGH* I'll patiently wait until Sunday and see what happens. Then I'll try to sprout 2 more seeds in a paper towel maybe. I have 5 left.

Hi I love photoperiod because they're so easy to control - FIM (squeeze the very top bit hard) a few times and a single plant will fill my grow room. But.. Last year I harvested my first grow in mid-July, so time was limited. I bought a single feminized White Widow x Big Budda Auto, started in rockwool, then transferred to hydroponincs with a 22 hour light cycle. Germination to harvest was about 14 weeks, so I got her done before the cold weather kicked in. Seven ounces dry and cured. Just one thing with free seeds... How do you know their female? I'd hate to wait weeks (until gender became apparent) just to have to throw a plant away. Worse still, I like my bud seedless, so getting pollen in the grow room means a full deep clean (I had a plant hermie a couple of years back and it was a PITA).

I'm doing pots on a patio, due east facing so I get all morning to noon sun. Low maintenance, as natural as possible.

Just looked again and I have one sprout! It's not in a place I thought I placed the seed though, hmmm. Well, as long as it's a plant I'm stoked! I planted a seed without pre-soaking it just today so I might have 2 in one pot which is fine with me really. I'm not trying to max out anything just grow enough to have and share freely. Plus it's cool growing legally for once.

Got a sprout, one week old today. I poked a seed in this pot and planted another one I popped soaking it in water for 2 days. The other seed I put directly in the dirt popped up about one inch from this sprout today! (this pic is one week old today) I didn't know I planted it this close. Should I just let them grow together as an experiment or try to dig it out now and plant it 4in or so away from it? Would that possibly kill them both? Planted another popped seed in the other pot that never got a sprout yet. I should have just planted the seeds straight in the dirt. Now I know. Not too worried about it. I might just let them grow together and thin out in between the two close together and let it grow as one bush.

Good work so far
I'm interested to see how they grow together
It shouldn't be a big problem if you're just growing for yourself for fun
You can just kind of bend them a bit later on
I recommend a photoperiod as well I don't grow auto flowers and won't

They're outside on a balcony. I'm doing it as naturally as possible and don't really care about max yield. Anything I get will be fine with me. I just like growing them in addition to what they give to me. I always share it with everyone that I know that likes weed.

Well, I hate to have done it but I sacrificed one of the plants that were growing too close together. I just couldn't let them grow like that and I probably only need 2 anyway. The little thing smelled really skunky for such a little plant!

Any names for the types/whatever? Love the 4th from the left!
I didn't want 2 crowding each other. I have 4 seeds left anyway, "amnesia haze". I bet I get a seed or 2 out of these outside. I did in Denver when I grew some females outside. They're branching already at 4th stage. The seed co states I could get 5-10 ounces per plant. If I get the least amount that's 10 ounces from 2 plants. More than enough for a year for me until I grow again the next. I could get a second grow in. maybe. It would be July-Sept/Oct. I'll see how this goes.

One got mold and I sprayed it with neem oil a couple of days and I think I saved it, luckily the other one appears to be OK for now. Don't think I'll grow these again, regular seeds next year.

Those look great man! Why no auto-flowers anymore though?

IDK it looks like a little bit for a lot of trouble. I can do up to 4, maybe I'll try another strain. I want to see if regular seeds are susceptible to mold like this one got. Probably, because it was over 75% humidity for months. In hindsight I should have started them this month.

Yeah 75% humidity during flowering is pretty high.

OK, so I'm back into liking these autos. About to harvest one. The other one is about a week or 2 away. Looks like 14 weeks for the 1st one finishing and the trichomes are clear and cloudy with amber tips. I'm cutting it Saturday I think, the other appears to be another week or 2 behind it. I estimate an ounce or so on the 1st one and maybe 1.5-2 on the second one if I'm lucky. Worth it to me to grow them as they are stealthy and low key and not much work to trim and cure it seems. I have 4 seeds left and I'll do all 4 next year as the limit is 4 plants here. This will last me all winter and into spring next year.
