New Grower. How do these spawn look? Normal? Bacterial? Ty

Hello, new grower here.
Wondering if this is bacterial infection in my grains. The mycelium looks kinda dry and some grains wet? They were all shaken 24 hours ago and recovered kinda fast but still have that same appearance, last one in particular.
Grains were PC'ed for 2 hours at 13 psi, stored at 65 F. Popcorn.
All were inoculated 16 days ago, agar transfer. Cube.
Unmodified lid tek but forgot to loose the rings a week into the inoculation. Good? Bad? Thanks!

Wet grain pressed against the jar seems to be indication of bacterial infection. So I vote yes on bacterial but I would wait for other more experienced members to voice their opinions.

That wet jar is not looking good at all. I would let the other two grow for another two days and post more photos since it's only 24hrs after the last shake. Maybe they will come around.
If your PC only goes to 13psi then think about using a different grain instead of popcorn.

Thank you! Will shake and see if they recover fast or not in those two days.

Growth is way too light and wispy for traditional cubes.

Yeah, they look completely different from other jars I'm growing :/.
I'm currently PC'ing WBS atm, hope I have better luck with that type of grain.

You can still put those jars to a shoebox and give it a go.

I wouldn't spawn those jars, top fruit them.

Popcorn is one of the worst grains imo.
I rarely see good looking popcorn jars, and it seems to be very difficult to hydrate correctly. I know a lot of places there’s not much choice but I would try to find bird seed or something for next time.
The myc in the wet jar actually looks healthiest to me so far which makes me wonder if the others aren’t hydrated enough.

Not necessarily bacterial- though too wet is not good. The wetness is pretty clear, keep an eye out for the wet grain against glass to have a milky look to it.
Right After shaking is when I try to get a whif of the jar thru the filter (not always possible).

Thanks for all the helpful replies!
So, they colonized more after the shake and I decided to send two to shoebox and the most wet one to top fruit. Let's see if I can get some fruits out of them.
For now I just inoculated some WBS. Hope I have better luck with those.

I also have another jar that looks normal, I think, but the growth has been very very slow.
They were inoculated 16 days ago, agar transfer.
Temp 65F. Is it normal for it to be this slow?

Slow colonization generally indicates the mycelium is fighting with a competitor of sorts.

It could just be slow from the 65f temps. Since there's no obvious molds or bacteria signs, I would shake it up and see how it responds. It will likely take off once more inoculation points are created.

That jar looks good.
The temp is definitely too low, ime anything below 70 starts to slow significantly

So, sent both "healthy" looking ones 2 weeks ago.
This is the most active one, how does it look? good? bad?

The other one is pretty much half of that, in terms of growth.

Never tried popcorn, seen a lot of people that swear by it tho. I mean I got a Presto 23qt PC on the way right now but generally speaking what grains are preferred for someone that can only get to 13psi? I'm running rye now and want to try wbs soon
