Boomer shroomer gives out bad info, and sells dodgy, overpriced kit like your mono. She isn't very well liked here. You've got fruits which is good, try a tek like pftek next time, you should get better results.

Welcome to the forum! We're not clowning on you OP, don't worry, we're just jaded when it comes to grow kits and this grifter especially. You should've seen the way I started this hobby, it was terrible.
Glad you got something out of that kit, check this post out for modern cultivation methods: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24420178

Take some prints. Did you keep the syringe? Keep researching here. Stop researching other places. How are you planning on drying your harvest?

Roger that (I did come to shroomery very recent, mostly was on unclebens and have been watching philly golden teacher youtube vids. Prints are planned. I have some agar plates on hand too. I have another tub that is a week behind this one growing Ape revert (fingers crossed that one works out, everything with it has gone slower).
I kept my used spore syringes in the fridge in a ziplock till for next go around.
Using this dehydrator: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B097STCDM1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
Thanks Tao

I like how OP has more fruits. Seriously alot of us started out not using the best methods. Stick around, learn, and grow.

Ten years ago, when I joined, shooting spore syringes to grain was completely acceptable. I was out for a few years, came back, learned agar, and have thrived since.Quote:

Whilst I did recommend only pftek, I'll go with what bakedbeings said and suggest you try agar. If you're truly willing to learn, it will help you so much. It's a lot easier than you would think, you need to take the plunge and learn it. With agar, you can print those shrooms, germinate the spores, clean up the mycelium, and have shit hot grows. Like actual canopies. Stop buying anything from online vendors and ask us in this thread. I checked boomer's monos and you could buy like 5 or 10 better monos for the price of one. That money could be better spent on petris and a pressure cooker. Have you built a sab yet? This is a link to spore printing. You can do it without a sab if need be. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24461957

I haven't done a SAB yet but it's been on the back of my mind. Was fortunate enough to get a new home last year and for now have a dedicated bathroom that hasn't been used as a bathroom sorta thing. Using a levoit 400s air purifier that I already had...
Have the Ape revert in the other tub and when I did that I also did a grain to grain transfer, so have another batch of ape revert colonizing now in a dub tub (used Willy World's video for that, just wanted to control the temp better, and it is doing much better than my space heater was).
Not quite ready yet for a pressure cooker. Given that I haven't bought any more substrate, I guess my next dillema is how I am going to handle that colonized spawn bag =D

Here's a pic from this afternoon, starting to see more pins filling in on the opposite now. Anything other than misting the sides and top with my fine mister I should be doing at this point? Is the middle slower just because that is where most of the moisture remains?
Lots of noob questions just happy to see fruits.

uneven pinsets are a result of surface conditions and/or genetics
i recommend investing in a PC but the question you should ask yourself is how into this you want to get, how much time and money you want to spend, and how much weight do you really need to grow. PF tek is a perfect method for a low key hobbie. theres a link in my sig. the other link is an intro to some more advanced games you can play without a PC

Yeah I really don’t require much. I’ve enjoyed the process enough that I want to try other mushrooms in general. PF Tek does sound like a great fit.
With two tubs going and a third spawn bag colonizing, if they all produce something usable I’m gonna have to make honey or something to preserve them. Figured I was going to brute force something to grow =D

Ape revert took much longer, but adding it here as part of my first grow.
