Strangest thing today... 3

So after looking at a few T1 plates today I find something I've never seen before.
Where I cooled my blade on a plate, there's what looks like a bacterial colony. But out of each end is a clear tendril that shoots straight for the exit of the petri dish, not across the surface of the agar, but diagonally through space. One tendril has made it out of the petri entirely. This plate is a week old. Any clue?

I hope that is only some melted plastic you are just now noticing. Between that show The Last of Us and the threat of alien life forms, I would probably be incinerating that entire plate out of an abundance of caution!

It's currently inside a ziplock baggie inside of a shoebox tub with lid. As of this morning, no change. Will check when I get home.

I'd assume that this tendril is causing the bacterial contamination and not emerging from it. Cloud this be just a piece of plastic wrap that got stuck to the dish and then got stuck between the lid and the agar somehow?
I would try cutting it and see what it is made of.

No obvious change today. Adding pics of tendril end and entire plate to make better future assessments.
On second look, the "bacteria" colony isn't where I cooled the blade, just satellite.
Also, whatever it is, isn't plastic. I use glass petris. They are put into individual zip baggies after transfers. This didn't exist a week ago during transfer.

Possibly. Yes, I don't trust it and am a little spooked. At least it wasn't crawling down the kitchen counter this morning. Goddamn.

I had something that looked similar once, turned out to be a hair.
