Vacation SUCKS!

Well it turns out that I am going to Florida with my family next week. We are leaving Monday and returning Saturday. While this might sound fun to the average Joe, this is terrible news for the mushroom grower.
I am on my first grow, and I birthed my cakes Monday. I waited 5 days after they looked 100% to birth, so I should get pins any day now.
Now for the questions. What should I do if I get no mushrooms before I leave? I don't exactly trust anyone to come to my house twice a day to fan them, so do you think an outside grow would be good? Let's say I do get a couple mushrooms, but I don't have time to dry them out. Would it be bad to leave them in the drying chamber for a week?
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this.

Tell em you don't want to go, simple as that.

maybe just buy some dung and take your cakes and do an outside grow.... i did that before i went out of town for a week... then a week after you get back you should have some nice guys growin.... fruiting cakes gives you kinda weak shrooms anyways... they get nice and beefy when you grow them outside with some dung

you don't have any friends who you could give your terrarium to for a week in exchange for some of the goods?

if they have not pinned yet put them back in the jars and put them in the fridge. it is not a perfect solution but it should work fine
it is much better than having them fruit while you are gone.
another alternative is to hook up an fish tank air pump and run that to your grow chamber it will provide enough air exchange.to keep things going. if they have not pinned yet and you are only going to be gone for 5 or 6 days you should come home to some nice fruits.
best of luck to you.

I think you have stalling and killing confused. Put them in the fridge. I've had em in there for up to 4 months with no problems.

If discovery doesn't matter, then you could put them in the fridge. They'd be fine in there.
If you've got a good set-up with an air pump to provide aeration and to help boost humidity, and if it can go a week without needing water added (or if you could set up a syphon system or a larger water reserve,) and if they haven't started pinning by the time you leave, you could just leave 'em there.

Domey, I know you know better tardboy.
Do not withhold humidity from your cakes or casings.

Alright I just got pins! So I guess I should have mushrooms to harvest by the end of the week. Can I still stall them or will it be too late? And also, is it a problem if I leave them in the drying chamber for a week?

Anyone know? After the first flush, can I stall them, or should I try to grow them outside?

Yeah. Just hook up a fish pump into your terrarium -- terminate the tube with a small airstone and put that in a jar of H2O2/water solution in your tank. A qt jar, half-full, should run for a week -- or close to it -- without running dry, or at least, running dry for too long.

I used a "Tidy Cat" cat litter container, one of the white plastic ones with the teal colored tops. I filled that with a water/h2o2 mix about 4 inches deep. I also used a smaller container with about 2 inches of moist perlite in the bottom of it, and set that a drift inside the "Tidy Cat" box. I cut a square in the lid of the "Tidy Cat" container and used plastic wrap to make a decent seal. So when I close the lid the plastic wrap is stretched tight. I have a fish pump going into the water in the outer container for air exchange and the humidity seems stay relatively high as well. This way has proven to be very effective for me, and I rarely have to check on my cake. Just another way another Joe grows his own I guess.
