Keep them upside down. Go to your sab and shake the drops out.

I decided to jump right in as soon as the package arrived. I prepped my agar pretty standard recipe slightly modified. I used 750ml water 15g agar 10.5 lme
I decided to raw dog cook em as mentioned in the thread. Lots of condensation but that doesnt bother me. What bothers me is the fact that once it dries the water spots left behind are a bitch!! Totally makes it hard to see through now.. Wtf How do i get rid of the ghost drops.
Guess the condensation won this round
After pc to 0, get them out and put an oven slide on top and add boiling water. Note that if it cools down too fast, you still end up with water spots (so cover with a plate and towel to keep it warm).

Forsure. Im not worried about condensation i dont think its that big of a deal. But my water must have been too hard or something cause it literally left like almost solid white dots. Im starting over now with distilled to see if it happens again

I made some separators from .12mm aluminum. I still get condensation on the top plates but the others are stacked straight and usually clear. And the top plates clear in a few days.

Looks like sheet metal is pretty expensive, how much did that cost?

Do u pull them out or leave em to cool over night? Also do u leave the top exposed like that while in the pc?

I got a 32" x 54" sheet from work for $10.25. Unsure what it would cost at retail.

I put the pressure cooker lid on, but there is nothing between the top plate and the lid. I let everything cool overnight before removing the lid.

Even much smaller sheets are $40 on Amazon, $10 is a great deal!

Did you end up running the plates upright with an upside lid on the jar? Considering doing the same except using foil with holes in the top.

To me this suggests that someone's earlier prediction of the lids popping off was incorrect. They weren't tight enough for the formation of a significant pressure differential; the lids instead just melted and sagged.
Anyone else have a different interpretation?

Lid too tight... pressure and heat pushed air out, seal formed, so when it cooled it sucked a vacuum into itself. Loosen the lid more during PC and it doesnt happen.

Are people still using these? They look great but I also see Mr. Alien say the Amersummer plates have a defective lid and I also see some people saying the threads have warped on them leading to defective plates.
Not knocking them at all, just looking for a good no pour plate option where I won't have to worry about plates warping without my knowing

They work fine. You screw them on hand tight not cranked. Some have warped and i still use them. Visibility is better with colored agar.

I use These from amazon $13/20 packfor a while.

I have 100 of these in two different sizes that I enjoy using. 6.5cm and 9.3cm or something. My favorite part is not having to wrap and unwrap them. I sourced mine on ALIEXPRESS, but the recent links to Amazon were only 20c per unit more expensive, so likely worth it for faster shipping.

I have 60 and also love them. As others have said they are not the clearest, but you can see well enough to know what's up. I also agree with cooleko not having to wrap is pretty nice for my lazy ass. People argue about clingwrap and parafilm. No-film gang for life!

Ok, just saying (not sure if you had that exposed to open air or not but.., the contam on the perimeter of your plate, looks like the exact type of contam I get when I have a lid going bad on any of my no pour plates, usually starts right near the outer edge and thats what I'm trying to avoid.

Its not often i get mold. This was a germ plate after a few weeks. Its possible the lid was loose and got a contam.
Ive been thinking i should install a small hole with tyvek and mp tape then crank the lid on all the way. Having gas exchange is useful for clearing up any condensation as well.
