So for those of you that don't know Air layering is a technique that you can easily propagate a clone off a living plant-
Tested this on my Mimosa tenuiflora about 2months back and we'll it works!!

Pretty certain this would be a great method to try on B.caapi
I'll be doing some more trials so will put some more photos up as I go along

Thanks for sharing 👍 Those wouldn't grow in zone 7, would they?

I think zone 7 may just a tad on the cold side.... 9 and higher is what these plants need for optimum growth.

Here's another one just under 1.5meter branch(20mm) rooted in under 20 days!! The thinner branches I did(<10mm) have roots but nothing like this... Seems the thicker the branch selected the better.
I've done this on a caapi and it's also got roots but I'm going to give it another week or so before removing. Air layering for the win!!

Zifo, those air layers look really good. I have tried this with kratom a couple of times and could never strike roots. There are some big branches on the Anadenanthera I need to prune, also a Mimosoid. Might have to give this a shot and see how it goes. Did you use peat moss for the rooting medium?

Never heard of this, how effective is it? I just started using rooting hormone last year.

I've been using it for a while now. Good stuff...works fine for me and the best thing is it's free from the garden!!
