All creatures of all types have been designed via the filter of natural selection.
Every cell in every body is a historical record of the past.

The genes that drive anatomy, physiology, and behavior are the direct result of a plan. A DNA blueprint. You exist because your genes implemented a plan.
But I get your point!
"Natural selection is the blind watchmaker, blind because it does not see ahead, does not plan consequences, has no purpose in view. Yet the living results of natural selection overwhelmingly impress us with the appearance of design as if by a master watchmaker, impress us with the illusion of design and planning."

Yo
I'll reply at another time about what you said about kids, phones/devices and the baby shark song (and how it's your phone's ringtone ).

I was just impressed that it was good at it. It was mildly amusing in my opinion.

DNA is an informational coding system that builds skin, livers, hearts and brains. If DNA transcription and translation isn't a building plan, I don't know what is.
Back to the topic. If you want to have some fun, ask ChatGPT, "Do all lives matter?" and then read its hysterical hyperbolic political response.

I found the ChatGPT to be fascinating. I debated it into a corner and it quickly flip-flopped. A human would have displayed a bias to continue arguing the incorrect idea.
I had also asked it to calculate some figures for me, and it made a big mistake. I pointed the mistake out to it, and it continued on the same mistake for a while until I went through the math point-by-point and it then recognized its error. Easy to put AI on a pedestal.

potentially neglect (but not if the child is attended at the same time) and really not abuse moot I know, but abuse involves something a bit more violent and intrusive or painful, while neglect is a failure to be present as needed.
The abuse is of the child's mind and future.
have you seen blippy, or baby shark? I have seen my 2 yr old grandson solving some interesting puzzles with numbers and letters. we worked the puzzles together and were in constant contact, and talking.
Haven't seen blippy but I've heard of baby shark.
I'm glad these things (on a device) give you both fun times together, but this is not the issue at hand. The issue is that a child is bought up thinking that using a device for much of the day is normal (mind is still developing). They then grow up and being fully brainwashed, think it's also normal to want a $1500 us dollar latest IPhone which they very likely want to update as soon as the next model comes out.
This is not normal.
Also, internet abled devices in a unsupervised child possession is asking for trouble, and while it may not be evident at the age of 5 and under, as the child becomes older the likelihood of being exposed to sexual content, violent (mentally disturbing) content and lastly the negative side of humanity which will, if the child is not mentally strong enough (or well trained), will be negatively affected by the content that they will end up consuming by the time they become adults.
Personally I hate smart phones and while I did use them for a few years I decided to go back to a "dumb phone". I would rather eat dog sh%t then use an android phone again. I believe that anyone who uses a smartphone for most of the day (with it never leaving their side), are some of the (if not the) dumbest people on the planet.
Anyway as for AI, just like smart phones and social media sites, I believe that AI will ultimately be bad for the human race, not solving the problems we face but adding new ones .

My ex-wife has always given my son unfettered access to the web.
I feel sad he's known what bukkake is since he was about 15.

I believe all forms of screentime ultimately harm us. Yes, we can learn a lot via electronic screens, play fun games, and engage in some level of "social" activity, but humans were never designed to stare at and "interact" with electronic screens of any type. This is brand new in the scope of evolution.
I now need to reboot my laptop.
While TV can rot the brain (most children will see thousands of deaths, murders and instances of violence on the TV/Movies), it is limited by many laws that try to limit bad content from showing on the TV and in movies.
This can not be said of a smartphone with the internet access. With little effort a young child (under 10) can watch full on porn, and with a little more effort most likely be able to watch a beheading or a live suicide video, things that TV will never be allowed to show.
Smartphones are much worse then TV when it comes to mental and sociological harm. Despite this, there is undeniably a push to get devices into children's hand.
Hence I still believe that it's nothing less then child abuse (unless fully supervised with no unsupervised internet access), to give a child (15 and under) a device with internet access and walk away.

In the condo I am renting, the door answering video circuit, the thermostat, and all messages about parcels, fire drills and any general announcements (mostly about cigarette butts) show up on the panel and also on an app on our phones.
we complained that the thermostat was not letting us get warm and had a 3 hour service call today, and now we have no heat.
the technician is fussing with a computer, someplace, it's friday, I think we won't be getting warm this weekend.
I really do not like how companies think about tablets and the way devices are supposed to connect.

It is disgusting and mind-blowing to think kids have access to this content so easily

Apparently buzzfeed tried to integrate AI then collapsed, not sure how much of failure was inevitable or due to AI use though.
Quote:
BuzzFeed News is closing up shop as the company nurses its bottom line, enlists ChatGPT.
We will bring more innovation to clients in the form of creators, AI, and cultural moments,” Peretti wrote. In particular, some speculate that artificial intelligence, which exploded on the pop culture scene last fall, could play a major role in BuzzFeed’s game plan. In January, the company said it would be using ChatGPT, the impressive text-generator developed by OpenAI, to create AI-powered quizzes that could spit out customized results for each quiz taker. (In BuzzFeed’s heyday for quizzes, circa 2010, that content was mostly crowdsourced—written by BuzzFeed community members who could sign up for accounts and self-publish on the website.)
Consumer appetite for such content, in fact, tracks with history. Hard journalism has long employed diversions of levity to make heavy dumps of sobering news more palatable. In the 1900s, it was crosswords and comic strips. In the 2000s, it might just be AI quizzes.
News of BuzzFeed News’s shuttering comes alongside a 15% job cut company-wide, affecting 180 people across content, tech, and administrative teams. Of those, 60 are from BuzzFeed News specifically, a source told the New York Times. It’s a sign of what many in the industry have already known for years—that operations will need to be leaner and meaner than ever to survive an evolving online world. BuzzFeed will move forward “only with parts of the business that have demonstrated their ability to add to the company’s bottom line,” Peretti wrote.
BuzzFeed went public via SPAC in 2021. Its stock sank 23% earlier today but is still up by 3% year-to-date as of midday, buoyed by an over-300% surge following its ChatGPT announcement in January.

What is the key to sustenance when AI's do everything for us?
Jeremy Rifkin believes there will be an end to work..
But what will we do?
And how can that happen?
